Gholamreza Azizi is an investigator in the Non-communicable Diseases Research Center at Alborz University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Nektarios Barabutis received his Ph.D from the Medical School of the University of Athens (Athens, Greece). He continued his post doc studies in the field of oncology, pharmacology and vascular biology in the University of Miami (Miami, FL, USA), Augusta University (Augusta, GA,USA) and Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA, USA). His work is focused on the role of P53 and Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) in human pathophysiology, including inflammatory lung diseases (e.g. Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). Dr. Jacobs studied chemistry and obtained his doctorate (PhD) from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Since then his scientific interests are mainly focused on regulation of T cells during infectious diseases by co-inhibitory molecules and how these molecules contribute to the development of the immune response that can either lead to protection or pathology. In 2000, he joined the Bernhard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine in Hamburg (Germany) as a senior scientist. Since 2016, he is head of the newly formed group “Protozoan Immunology” which is mainly working on malaria and Chagas disease.
Dr. Gen-Min Lin has been a Faculty Member of the Hualien Armed Forces General Hospital in Taiwan and started cardiovascular researches since 2003. With a collaboration with the Department of Public Health in Tzu-Chi University, he used the eastern Taiwan integrated health care delivery system of Coronary Heart Disease (ET-CHD) registry, 1997-2006, to complete serial longitudinal studies for the association of cardiovascular risk factors with cardiac and overall mortality in patients with CHD. During 2013-2014, he had been a visiting scholar in the Department of Preventive Medicine of Northwestern University in Chicago and has become an investigator of the Multi-Ethnic Atherosclerosis Study (MESA). In 2018, he obtained Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) in National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan. His study interests include cardiovascular medicine, epidemiology study, signal analysis, big data mining, and artificial intelligence in imaging and medicine. Dr. Gen-Min Lin has published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal papers, book chapters, edited/reviewed for many academic journals and attended as an editorial board member in some peer-review journals in the past 10 years. Dr. Dongyang Liu is director of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometric Office of Chinese Peking University Third Hospital (PUTH). Since 2006 Eduardo Ortega (Doctor in Biology-Immunology by Complutense University of Madrid, Spain; and Professor of Physiology at the University of Extremadura, Spain) is the founder and head of the Immunophysiology Research Group, mainly focused on the modulation of innate and inflammatory cells by stress messengers at physiological concentrations released after different physiological conditions and strategies; also evaluating the potential dysfunctions in the bidirectional interactions between the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems; particularly with regard to the feedback between stress and inflammatory responses and with special emphasis in the well-balanced innate and inflammatory processes.

Dr. Singh research is focused on deciphering the role of a multi-domain scaffolding protein NEDD9 in gastrointestinal cancers and breast cancer. NEDD9 provides a signaling complex regulating multiple cellular processes relevant to cancer. These include responsiveness to signals emanating from the T and B cell receptors, integrins, chemokine receptors, and receptor tyrosine kinases, as well as cytoplasmic oncogenes such as BCR-ABL and FAK- and SRC-family kinases. NEDD9 is known to influence functions as migration, invasion, survival, and mitosis. He discovered a novel protein CASS4 which is currently being studied for its role in regulation of metastasis and immune components in lung cancers.In addition,He is identifying molecular subtypes in gallbladder cancer with the goal of characterizing new alterations, confirming genetic differences in these distinct subtypes of gallbladder cancer so as to decipher potentially targetable genetic aberrations."

Dr. Ramesh Pothuraju, Ph.D. is currently working as Instructor (Junior Faculty) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), Omaha, USA. During initial years of postdoctoral training at UNMC, he studied the differential expression of mucins in pancreatic as well as CRC progression and developed genetically engineered mouse models for CRC. Before joining at UNMC, he obtained his M.Sc. (2009) and Ph.D. (2015) degrees from the National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, India. During his Ph.D. program, he studied the anti-obesity effects of probiotics (Lactobacilli) and herbal ingredients in diet induced obesity and insulin resistance mouse models.
