The Pharmacology section of the journal Current Chinese Science publishes original research articles, letters, case reports, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to pharmacology and its related studies.

Dr. Jinyong Peng is currently working as the dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dalian Medical University. He received his PhD from The Second Military Medical University, Shanghai, China during the period of 2003-2006, and last received his post-doctoral degree in Analytical Chemistry from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dalian, China. As the corresponding author, he has published some papers in Theranostics, Redox Biology, Chemical Communications, Free Radical Biology and Medicine, Archives of Toxicology, British Journal of Pharmacology, and Pharmacological Research. His research interests include investigating the activities, drug targets on proteins or peptide, Toxicology and mechanisms of natural products or functional foods associated with oxidative stress against organ damage and metabolic disease. He is serving as an Associate Editor or Editorial Member of more than ten reputed journals including British Journal of Pharmacology

Srinivasa Reddy Bonam graduated from the Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Guntur, India, with bachelor's and master's degrees in pharmacy. Under the supervision of Dr. H.M. Sampath Kumar, he received his PhD in 2018 from the AcSIR at the IICT in India, where he focused on the development of novel immunomodulators and vaccine adjuvants against infectious diseases. He received a Raman Charpak Fellowship to carry out research at the IBMC at the University of Strasbourg. From 2018 to early 2020, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at IBMC, University of Strasbourg, France, under the supervision of Prof. Sylviane Muller. At IBMC, he worked on the P140 (Lupuzor®), a 21-mer peptide that combats systemic lupus erythematosus. Later, he joined with Prof. Jagadeesh Bayry at INSERM, CRC, Paris, France to work on the host-pathogen interaction and the 'next-generation flu vaccines for the world'. He is currently continuing his postdoctoral research on the development of mRNA vaccines for emerging infectious diseases at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, USA. He has a 20 h-index, 70 publications, and over 1,400 citations. He holds three patents, one of which was recently licensed to a private company. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals. He has been a member of several professional associations and currently serves on the Society of Leukocyte Biology's professional development committee.

Dr. Haiyun Xu graduated from Peking Union Medical College in 1996 with a doctorate in Medicine. He has vast experience of teaching medical students and supervising graduate students in the USA, Canada, and China. Currently, he is a full professor at the School of Psychiatry, Wenzhou Medical University, China. He has published over 90 academic articles that have been cited more than 3,300 times. His research fields include Biopsychiatry and Psychopharmacology. He has been serving for 16 journals as an associate editor or editorial board member.

Dr Daniel Ricardo Delgado is Biology and Chemistry graduate of Universidad Surcolombiana, Neiva, Colombia. He obtained his master's degree in Chemistry and his Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the National University of Colombia, Bogotá, Colombia and now is professor and researcher at the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia. Dr Delgado has published more than 100 papers in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Delgado’s primary research interests include drug solubility, cosolvency, pharmacology, and pharmacoeconomics.

Dr. George P.H. Leung obtained his BPharm and PhD degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his post-doctoral training from the Department of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at the University of Hong Kong. He has published on 100 peer-review papers. His expertise is cardiovascular pharmacology, with special interest in nucleoside transporters and natural products.

Dr. Xufeng Tao is a Doctor of School of Chemical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. He got his master’s degree from Dalian Medical University in 2015 and a bachelor’s degree from Qinghai Nationalities University in 2012. He has worked as an assistant laboratory technician in Dalian Medical University from 2015 to 2018. His previous studies have been focused on the pharmacodynamics of natural products of Traditional Chinese Medicine. His current study is focused on the transformation mechanism from pancreatitis to pancreatic cancer. He has published several SCI papers as the first author or co-first author in recent years.

Dante Marciani, President & Chief Scientific Officer of Qantu Therapeutics, Inc, holds a Sc.D. in Biology from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marco, Lima – Peru, where he was an Assistant Professor, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO. He was a scientist at NIH, Bethesda, MD. His work led to the first commercial rec. DNA based HIV serological test, a veterinary subunit vaccine against FeLV, and the development of novel immune agonists, like QS-21, GPI-0100 and QT-0101. His current research focuses on anti-inflammatory vaccine adjuvants for autoimmune conditions and proteopathies.

He has received a young investigator fellowship award from European Atherosclerosis Society, Sweden for his PhD research work. He has received an award in the year 2015, as a reviewer of the Elsevier European Journal of Integrative Medicine. He has published 80 research and review articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has also published 2 books.

Dr. Mehmet Öztürk is Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University and the Assistant Manager of Food Analysis Application and Research Center at the same University. Dr. Öztürk received his Chemist degree from the Mediterranean University at 1998 and received his Ph.D. on Analytical Chemistry at Faculty of Pharmacy of Istanbul University at 2008. He is one of the leading research experts in the area of Natural Products Chemistry and Food Chemistry, as well as in vitro biological activities. He has published more 100 papers and 3 books chapter in the area of chemical ingredients of natural products related to Food and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Recently, he has been working on cytotoxic and immunomodulatory activity of Mushrooms. Nowadays, Dr. Öztürk also focusses on various types of honey origins and to solve their adulteration. Dr. Öztürk serves on various project review committees including TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) projects, and also gives lectures on the preparation of both international and national projects. His recent h-index is over 28 (webometrics) and 22 (publons).

He is now an associate professor in Tianjin Medical University General Hospital. His research focuses on the mechanism of tumorigenesis, signaling pathway in tumor, gene post-transcriptional modification and chemotherapy for tumor.
