The Corrosion Science section of the journal Current Chinese Science publishes original research articles, letters, case reports, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to corrosion science.
This section is not limited to a specific aspect of the field but is instead devoted to a wide range of sub fields in the area. Articles of a multidisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. Submissions in the following corrosion science areas are of special interest to the readers of this journal:• Biochemical corrosion
• Crevice corrosion
• Electrochemical oxidation
• High temperature oxidation
• Mechanisms and methods of corrosion control
• Pitting corrosion
• Stress corrosion cracking
Professor Lei Guo received his PhD in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Chongqing University, China in 2015. He is currently working as a Professor at the Department of Materials and Chemical Engineering, Tongren University, China. He has conducted a series of studies in various areas of the field of physical chemistry: electrochemistry, corrosion science, density functional theory, as well as molecular dynamic simulation. He recently focuses on metal-air batteries, organic corrosion inhibitors, and the first principle calculation. He has authored over 100 papers published in international journals, 2 book chapters and 50 patents.He is also a member of the editorial board of 5 international journals.
郭雷，男，1987年6月生，铜仁学院教授，西南石油大学博士后， 2015年博士毕业于重庆大学，贵州省“千”层次创新型人才，四川轻 化工大学兼职硕导，主要深耕材料腐蚀与防护、化学电源、电化学 分析方法、分子模拟计算、表界面材料等领域的研究。目前担任 ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces，Corrosion Science、International Journal of Energy Research、Journal of Colloid and Interface Science 等100多个期刊杂志评审专家，担任 Journal of Materials and Environmental Science、Colloid and Surface Science等多个杂志编委，主持国家自然科学基金、贵州省 科技厅项目、贵州省教育厅拔尖人才计划、四川省材料腐蚀与防护 重点实验室开放基金以及企业委托研发项目等共计10余项，已发表 SCI收录论文100余篇，获授权国家专利50余件（其中美国发明专利 1项），参编学术专著2部。
Dr. Yunping Li is currently a Professor at the Powder Metallurgy Research Institute, Central South University, China. He completed his PhD from the Department of Materials Engineering, The University of Tokyo in 2007. He was also a Specially Appointed Professor of Shonan Scholar at Chunan University His research interests include Metallic Materials; Corrosion, Plastic deformation. He has over 140 publications and has publications in Nature: NGP Asia Mater, Acta Mater, Electrochimica Acta, Corros Sci, etc.
Dr. Savas Kaya obtained his PhD from University of Cumhuriyet, Faculty of Sciences. Currently, he is serving as an Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Health Services Vocational School, Department of Pharmacy, Sivas, Turkey. His research areas include Theoretical Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Materials Science, Corrosion Science, Physical Inorganic Chemistry and Coordination Chemistry. Dr. Savaş Kaya published more than 180 papers in international journals. Recently, he introduced the Kaya chemical reactivity approach and combined reactivity descriptor and proposed some electronic structure principles.
Dong Junhua is a professor at Shenyang National Lab of Materials Science, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has expertise in studying and teaching the principle of electrochemical corrosion of metals. His interests focus on studying the electrochemical corrosion mechanism of metals in various corrosive environments, in-situ measurement and monitoring techniques, developing weathering and corrosion resistant steels, and selecting and designing corrosion resistant materials for geological disposal containers of highly radioactive nuclear waste. He has published more than 120 papers, and has taught courses in his organization for 18 years.
Dr. Wenpo Li is a professor at Chongqing University, China. He received his PhD in the field of metallurgy from School of Materials Science and Engineering, Chongqing University in 2011. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Chongqing University in the years 2004 and 2007 respectively. Dr. Li's research interests are electrochemical corrosion and protection of metal materials. He has made several publications in highly reputed journals.
Dr. Ambrish Singh is working as Professor in School of New Energy and Materials, Southwest Petroleum University, China. He is leading the Corrosion Research Group (CRG) with master students, Ph.D. students and postdoc researchers. His research interests are mainly focused on corrosion, electrochemistry, green chemistry, quantum chemistry, smart coatings, polymers, nano-materials, composites, and petroleum engineering. He got the prestigious Sichuan 1000 Talent Award from the Sichuan government, China for his outstanding research contributions as a faculty. He got the President’s Award for exceptional post doctoral research work. He also received the Young Scientist Award from UPCST, Lucknow, India. Before moving to China, Dr. Singh worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, India. He has published more than 120 SCI peer-reviewed research papers in high impact journals. He is acting as reviewer for more than 40 high impact journals and editor for few journals. He is included as board member in several journals due to his contributions in the field of corrosion. Dr. Singh has been invited to present his work in several national and International conferences, seminars and workshops. He got the best oral presentation award in Sanya, China during CMSE international conference. He has drafted five patents and filed two patents based on his new and innovative findings in China. He has finished several state and provincial projects in China and India. He is also serving as a consultant for a project on a corrosion inhibitor for the CO 2 environment from Saudi Arabia. He is the member of NACE (National Association for Corrosion Engineers, Houston, USA), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and American Chemical Society (ACS).
Dr.SUN is a professor in Chongqing University. He obtained his Ph.D from Nanyang Technological University in 2005. Before joining CQU in 2014, he worked as a department head in Seiko Epson, and a research scientist in Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology. He has authored and co-authored more than 50 papers, contributed to 2 published book chapters, and applied for 9 invention patents. Since 2014, He has hosted 8 research projects, including the NSFC. In addition, he has kept more than 10 memberships of professional institutions or societies, including the Board Member of National Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC57).
Associate Professor Renhui Zhang received his PhD in Chemical Physics from Chinese Academy of Sciences, China in 2015. He is currently working as an Associate Professor in East China Jiaotong University, China. He has conducted a series of studies in various areas such as corrosion science, electrochemistry, density functional theory, molecular dynamics as well as nanomaterial lubrication. He recently focuses on corrosion and lubrication. He has authored over 40 papers published in journals and 2 patents.
Dr. A. Djelloul has completed his HDR (Doctor Habilitatus), PhD and Magister in physics from University of Oran (USTO-MB), Algeria. Currently he is working as a Research professor in Research Center in Semiconductors Technology for Energetic (CRTSE), Algiers, Algeria. He has wide experiences in both Research and Academia concerning "Material Characterization, Nanomaterials, Thin Films and Nanotechnology, Solar cells, Silicon, Laser, Deposition Methods (CBD, SILAR, Spray pyrolysis, Vacuum Evaporation,...)". He has published more than 15 articles and presented many papers in reputed national and international conferences (50 conference proceedings). He is a member in many scientific projects, several academic societies and organizations. He is the Principal Guest Editor of several Special Issues in International Journal of Current Materials Science. He is also an Associate Editorial Board Member and Reviewer of many international journals.
Prof. Zhifu Huang received his Ph.D. in Materials Processing Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. Currently, he is a Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. His research interests focus on toughening hard phases of metal wear-resistant materials, fabrication of metal matrix wear-resistant composites, designing and fabrication of corrosion and wear-resistant alloys and synthesis of advance cermets. Besides, he has published several articles in well-reputed journals.
Professor Xingwen Zheng received his PhD in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Chongqing University, China in 2015. He is currently working as a Professor in School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Sichuan University of Science and Engineering, China. He has conducted a series of studies in various areas such as corrosion science, electrochemistry, density functional theory, as well as nanomaterial . He recently focuses on electrochemical corrosion, organic corrosion inhibitors, and electrochemical preparation. He has authored over 50 papers published in journals and 10 patents.
Dr Lucky Sikhwivhilu is the current Head and Director of DSI/Mintek Nanotechnology Innovation Centre. He received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand (RSA). He has post-doctoral experience from Unipress - Institute of High Pressure Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and University of Warsaw, Poland. He has authored more than 50 research publications and his interest is in nanobiotechnology and materials science. He has won several awards and also serves as an editor of the South African Journal of Chemistry.
Dr. Brahim El ibrahimi is a professor of physical chemistry at Faculty of Applied Sciences, IBN ZOHR University, Morocco. His scientific activity mainly focuses on the metallic protection against corrosion using inhibitor compounds, as well as the application of diver’s computational tools to investigate the inhibiting process at electronic and atomic scales. He is co-author of over 50 scientific papers including reviewer and full research papers and four book chapters as well. He has participated in more than 50 presentations in international and national conferences. He acted as lead Guest Editor of several Special Issues dealing with corrosion protection. He is also an active Reviewer of many international journals.
Dr. Weichun Pan got the bachelor degree of Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University in 1992 and the master degree from Zhejiang University and the National University of Singapore. Then he moved to the University of Houston and worked with Prof. Vekilov for his PhD program. Now he is a full professor in Zhejiang Gongshang University. His research interest focuses on the physical chemistry of protein and its applications in food.
