He is a board member of the Spanish branch of IEEE, member of CEA (Spanish Committee of Automatic Control), and member and Coordinator of the Fuzzy Control working group of EUSFLAT (European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology). He has more than 30 years of experience in academia and industry, participating in more than 20 national and international research and innovation projects in the process and energy industry.

Krassimir Atanassov is a Bulgarian mathematician, a Corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He is best known for introducing the concepts of Generalized nets and Intuitionistic fuzzy sets, which are extensions of the concepts of Petri nets and Fuzzy sets, respectively. Atanassov defended his PhD in 1986. He became Doctor of Technical Sciences in 1997 and of Mathematical Sciences in 2000 for his research in generalized nets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. In 1998, he became full professor and in 2012 was elected Corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Technical Sciences. For his contributions to fuzzy and intuitionistic fuzzy sets, in 2013, Atanassov was awarded Fellowship of the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA) and the statute of a Senior Member of IEEE in 2018.

Dr. Altan Cakir received his M.Sc. degree in physics from Izmir Institute of Technology and then went straight to graduate school at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. Prof. Vilem Novak, PhD, DSc. is the director of the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling of the University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. The institute (established in 1996) is one of the world renowned scientific workplaces that significantly contributed to the theory and applications of fuzzy modeling. V. Novak obtained PhD in mathematical logic at Charles University, Prague in 1988; DSc. (Doctor of Sciences) in computer science in Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw in 1995; full professor at Masaryk University, Brno in 2001. His research activities include mathematical fuzzy logic, approximate reasoning, mathematical modeling of linguistic semantics, fuzzy control, analysis and forecasting of time series and various kinds of applications of fuzzy modeling. He is among the pioneers of the fuzzy set theory. He was general chair of the VIIth IFSA’97 World Congress, Prague and of the international conferences EUSFLAT 2007, Ostrava and EUSFLAT 2019, Prague. He is member of editorial boards of several scientific journals. He is often invited to give plenary talks at international conferences and to give lectures in the universities all over the world. He is the author or co-author of 5 scientific monographs, 2 edited monographs and over 280 scientific papers with about 6500 citations. He was awarded in the International FLINS 2010 Conference in China and obtained the title “IFSA fellow” in 2017 for his scientific achievements.
