He is the Director of GITT - Centre on Innovation Management and Technology Transfer of the University of Bergamo. He is the Delegate of the Rector of the University of Bergamo for Technology Transfer and NETVAL – Network for the improvement of University research. Since 2006, her scientific interest mainly focuses on the corrosion and protection of metal materials, especially in magnesium alloys. To date, Dr. Song has already published over 60 papers with total citation over 1300 times, and holds 8 China invention patents and 1 US invention patent.

Dr. Stefano Caporali is presently an adjunct Professor of Material Science at the University of Florence. He graduated in Chemistry (1998), Geology (2010) and received his Ph. D. in Material Science (2006) from the University of Florence (Italy). His research interests cover a wide range of applied and theoretical aspects of electrochemistry and material chemistry, with an emphasis on the electrodeposition of anticorrosion and functional coatings from both aqueous and non-aqueous (ionic liquids) solutions. He pioneered the surface investigation of ionic liquids and their corrosion properties when in contact with steel, brass and light alloys. He was involved in the design and modeling of sustainable and eco-friendly industrial process (nickel and lead free coatings, lead-free noble metal analysis, nanoparticles functionalized ceramics, CTZS photovoltaic materials etc). He was also involved in the study of resource depletion and management , in particular regarding precious metal supply. He is author or coauthor of more than 80 publications in international peer reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Raja Rizwan Hussain is an Associate Professor & Head of Corrosion Lab., CoE-CRT, Civil Engineering Department, College of Engineering, King Saud University, KSA. He received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in 2006 and 2008 in Civil Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Hussain was ranked as an outstanding student and was awarded the best research thesis, prize and medal from the University of Tokyo. He also completed his Ph.D. in a record short period of just 2 years from a university ranked among Top 20 in the world. Also, he has authored more than 225 publications in the past 10 years of his post Ph.D. tenure.

He received Ph. D in materials science from Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academies of Sciences in 2001, from then on he worked in the institute. His research interests are the preparation technique and properties (mechanics, corrosion, tribology, thermology et al) of nanocrystalline metallic materials, and the relationship between different properties. He put forward the concept of intrinsic parameters associated with metallic materials corrosion. The corrosion properties and mechanism can be understood at atomic scale by these intrinsic parameters rather than by conventional parameters. He proposed ‘Severe Rolling Technique’ for producing bulk nanocrystalline metallic materials, this technique can be industrialized.

Dr. Nouari Saheb obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in metallurgy from Constantine University, Algeria, and Ph.D. in Materials Science from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia). Currently, he is a professor at the department of Mechanical Engineering, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). Dr. Saheb’s research focuses on the study of the relationship between processing, structure, and properties of materials. The aim of his research is to develop advanced materials such as metal and ceramic composites and nanocomposites, which have better properties and performance, for different engineering applications. He authored or co-authored 5 patents and more than 70 papers published in referred international journals.

He was the guest editor of Corrosion Reviews, in which he produced two special issues on corrosion control in geothermal plants and the electronic industry. He is a full professor at the University of Baja California. His activities include corrosion research, consultancy, and control in industrial plants and environments. During the IMRS Congress, in August 2013, Mexico, he received a “Distinguished Service Award” from NACE International and the NACE Central.

Dr. Husnu Gerengi is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Duzce University in Turkey. He is the representative member of his country in the International corrosion council (ICC) since 2015 http://icc-net.org/index.php/team_member/turkey/. His subject expertise and focus is on corrosion and corrosion control, corrosion-resistant materials, corrosion inhibitors – principles and mechanisms. He is the first researcher who used Dynamic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (DEIS) method in corrosion inhibitor studies. He investigates the long term evolution of impedance in a corrosion cell on adding an inhibitor. Through this technique, he can quantify and qualify the effectiveness of inhibitors and coatings. Besides corrosion, he has research interests in plastic material technology, rubber material technology and plastic & rubber additives. His dynamic and well-equipped laboratory has currently become a knowledge and research center for many postdoctoral researchers, doctoral students, masters and bachelors degree students. Corrosion-resistant steel, Al, Cu and brass alloys, Mg-based bioresorbable medical implants and corrosion-resistant construction materials are some of the ongoing topics for research in his laboratory. He has given numerous invited lectures at many national and international conferences and has authored more than 50 SCI scientific papers in high impact journals. He has seven ongoing patents to his credit based on boron-doped corrosion inhibitors.

Prior to joining Saudi Aramco, he was a Senior Metallurgical Engineer with ArcelorMittal Dofasco in Canada and a Research Scientist with the National Research Council of Canada. Abdelmounam is active in many organizations such as NACE, SPE and ASME and has served on technical committees and chairperson in several international conferences.

Dr. Salih Yılmaz was born in Turkey on 1982. He received his BS, MS and PhD degrees from the Department of Physics at Karadeniz Technical University in 2004, 2007 and 2013, respectively. He has been working at Department of Materials Engineering, Adana Science and Technology University as an Assistant Professor since 2013. His main research interests include the structural, optical, electrical and magnetic properties of II-VI group semiconductor materials as well as II-VI group based organic solar cells.

Dr Ji was graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China and worked there as an Associated Professor to 1997. Then he moved to Helsinki University of Technology, Finland as an academic visitor. He started his research work at Brunel University, UK, in 1999 and worked in industry before he returned to Brunel University as an academic in 2011. Dr Ji has worked on aluminium alloys, magnesium alloys and cast irons. He has developed himself from solidification and microstructural evolution during casting; and solid phase transformation during heat treatment, to the materials characterisation during processing.

He is currently a manager of the Department of Science and Technology, PetroVietnam University.

Dr. Figueira finished her PhD in Chemistry in 2015. Worked more than 10 years as researcher fellowship at National Laboratory for Civil Engineering – Department of Materials. During her PhD, she developed hybrid sol-gel materials, doped and undoped with corrosion inhibitors, to mitigate corrosion on galvanized steel when in contact with concrete. Published more than 15 papers in which was both the first and corresponding author. She is also an active member of several scientific societies such as The Royal Society of Chemistry. Presently, she is working at Engiprojects, Lda as consultant for research projects in the area of corrosion.

In 2010 he moved back to University of Sassari as an independent Research Fellow in the LMNT.
