Abstract: Background & Objective: ZRP is the most propitious and well acknowledged hybrid routing
Protocol in MANET. ZRP proves to perform better under scalability conditions as compared to the table
driven and on-demand routing protocols. However, for large networks with an increase in both traffic
and mobility the performance of ZRP gets affected. The overhead and latency are majorly affected. This
paper analyses the benefits of Clustering when it comes to scalability and proposes an algorithm using
the clustering mechanism. The algorithm also incorporates a novel technique called the route Aggregation
technique at the Cluster Head.
Conclusion: The simulation results are descriptive of the improvement in the End to End Delay, Normalized
Routing Load and Packet Delivery ratio, under varying nodes, connections and mobility. The
new Algorithm is called ZRP-RA.
