Abstract
The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of fenofibrate on the concentration and relative distribution of low density lipoprotein (LDL) subfractions in patients with combined dyslipidemia. Micronised fenofibrate was administered in a single daily dose of 200 mg. Serum lipid parameters and LDL subfraction concentrations were determined at baseline as well as after 16 weeks of treatment. Fenofibrate administration resulted in a significant decrease in total LDL mass. This decrease was due to the reduction in all LDL subfractions. As a consequence, the relative distribution of LDL subfractions was not affected by fenofibrate administration.

Navigating the Frontier: Probiotics' Promising Path in Combatting Viral Respiratory Infections, Spotlight on Coronaviridae.
Probiotics, well-known for their role in gut health, show promise in preventing and managing respiratory virus infections, particularly in children and at-risk populations. However, the profound influence of novel pathogenic viral RTIs such as coronaviruses has reshaped perspectives on the potential of probiotics. Despite their potential, significant gaps remain in ...read more
