Abstract

Due to its extensive applications in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry and its potent biological and pharmacological activities, including analgesic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer, ant-inflammatory, anti-tubercular, antihyperlipidemic, antihistamine, antiviral, anticonvulsant and antiparkinsonian, the heterocyclic molecule occupies a distinct place in the scientific community. The discovery that many synthetic quinazolinone derivatives exhibit a wide range of biological functions has sparked interest in this area of study.

The purpose of this review is to collate literature work reported by researchers on quinazolinone and its derivatives for their various pharmacological activities.

Keywords: Analgesic, Antimicrobial, Anticancer, Anti-inflammatory, Antitubercular, Anticonvulsant, Heterocyclics, Pharmacological activity, Quinazolinone.
