Debabrata Mukherjee, M.D is the Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and the Program Director for the Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship program at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. Dr Mukherjee has been an invited lecturer at several major national and international meetings, has authored over 450 publications, edited eighteen textbooks on cardiovascular diseases and written more than 100 textbook chapters. He presently serves on several journal editorial boards, is the Editor-in-Chief of the Cardiovascular and Hematological Agents in Medicinal Chemistry, and the Cardiology Reviews and is an Associate Editor for the journal Cardiovascular & Hematological Disorders-Drug Targets.

Ryuichi Morishita

Dr. Morishita graduated Osaka University Medical School in 1987, and received Ph. D. from Osaka University in 1991. After following postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine, he served as an Assistant Professor, Department of Geriatric Medicine, Osaka University Medical School from 1994 to 1998. Then, from 1998 to 2003, he was Associate Professor, Division of Gene Therapy Science, Osaka University Medical School. He became Professor & Chairman of Division of Clinical Gene Therapy, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University Medical School from 2003. Professor Morishita received over 20 awards from various academic societies and is currently on the editorial board of over 30 scientific journals.

G. Perry

George Perry (born April 12, 1953 in Lompoc, California) is a neuroscientist recognized in the field of Alzheimer's disease research particularly for his work in oxidative stress. Dr. Perry has studied at many universities and holds multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of California Santa Barbara and a PhD in Marine Biology from the Scrippss Institution of Oceanography at San Diego. He is distinguished as one of the top Alzheimer’s disease researchers by Expertscape with over 1000 publications, more than 66,000 citations (H=129), one of the top 100 most-cited scientists in Neuroscience & Behavior and one of the top 25 scientists in free radical research. Dr. Perry is a Semmes Foundation Distinguished University Chair in Neurobiology and is an active participant in many other scientific associations. He is an elected member of the Academies of Sciences of Mexico, Portugal, and Spain. In addition, Perry is an Editor of numerous scientific journals including Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease which he founded in 1998. Today, Perry continues his love for research while working as Dean of the College of Sciences at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Professor Jerzy Beltowski obtained a doctorate (Ph.D) in medicine from the Medical University, Lublin, Poland. Professor Beltowski is the full professor in the Department of Pathophysiology of the Medical University, Lublin, Poland. He published 140 full-length papers which have been cited more than 3000 times. His “h” index is now 27. He delivered lectures at about 30 international congresses, in most cases as the invited speaker. He has also been the reviewer of many grant applications including EU Horizon 2020 program.

Professor Raymond Cheung is Lee Man-Chiu Professor in Neuroscience, Professor of Neurology at Department of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, and Director of Acute Stroke Services, Hong Kong West Cluster Hospitals. He is a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh, Glasgow and London, as well as the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, American Academy of Medicine, European Stroke Organization, Royal Society of Medicine, Hong Kong College of Physicians and Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. He is Past President of both Hong Kong Neurological Society and Hong Kong Stroke Society. Dr. Pasquale Niscola postgraduated in Hematology in 1994 at La Sapienza University of Rome; he also achieved executive masters in "Pathophysiology and clinical venous thrombosis", “Epidemiology for public health workers” and “Management of Healthcare Organizations". Dr. Niscola also obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Hematology in 2008 from the Tor Vergata University of Rome. He is a medical doctor at S. Eugenio Hospital of Rome. Salvador Cruz-Flores, MD, MPH obtained his MD degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico. He completed residencies in internal medicine and neurology at the same institution. In addition to neurology residency and a two year fellowship in cerebrovascular diseases and neurocritical care at Saint Louis University. He also has a Masters in Public Health (Epidemiology) degree from Saint Louis University School of Public Health. He joined Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso as Founding Chair of the Department of Neurology. Dr. Cruz-Flores is board certified in neurology, vascular neurology, neuroimaging, and neurocritical care. He is a Fellow of the Stroke Council of the American Heart Association (FAHA), the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM), the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN), and the American College of Physicians (FACP) and the American Neurological Association (FANA). CLAUDIU T. SUPURAN is professor of medicinal chemistry at the Neurofarba Department, Section of Pharmaceutical and Nutriceutical Sciences, University of Florence, Italy. He has published more than 1250 papers, his Hirsch factor is h = 110; the number of citations since 1995 > 49800. His main research interest is on enzyme inhibitors, and especially carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, of which he discovered several new classes in the last years. One of the sulfonamides discovered in his group entered Phase I clinical trials in 2014 for the treatment of advanced, metastatic solid tumors. He is Editor-in-Chief of Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Patents, Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, Current Enzyme Inhibition, etc. For the last 25 years the main interest of his research was focused on metallo-enzymes and their modulators of activity. In 2013 he was rated as the most cited scientists in Pharmacology & Toxicology by LabTimes (LabTimes 2013, 5, 38).

Dr. R. Andriantsitohaina, PhD (1990, University Louis Pasteur of Strasbourg) is a male senior researcher (working full time) and Director of the INSERM 1063 « Oxidative Stress and Metabolic Diseases » at the University of Angers, France. He was post-doctoral fellow in Portland (Oregon, USA, Pr. Bukosky, 1990-1992). He was recruited at INSERM in 1992 (Strasbourg, 1992-2005). Since 2005, he leads a research team involved in the research of red wine polyphenols and the isolation, characterization and bioactions of extracellular vesicle from different cohort (sepsis, Crohn, sleep apnea syndrome, preeclampsia, metabolic syndrome). He discovered the implication of estrogen receptor alpha in the beneficial vascular effects of red wine polyphenols. Concerning extracellular vesicles, he is internationally recognized having demonstrating the effects of extracellular vesicless from different cohorts (sepsis, Crohn, sleep apnea syndrome, preeclampsia) including metabolic syndrome patients on vascular cells.

T.F. Whayne

Dr. Whayne has been Professor of Medicine at the University of Kentucky since l998. His academic career began in 1970. He was in a private cardiology practice in Kentucky from1977-1998. MD (1963) was obtained from the University of Pennsylvania and PhD (1970) while at the Cardiovascular Institute, University of California at San Francisco. Vincenzo Calderone is Full Professor of Pharmacology at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Pisa. His major scientific interests are focused on the Pharmacology of the cardiovascular system and, in particular, on the development and pharmacodynamic characterization of modulators of sarcolemmal and mitochondrial potassium channels. Moreover, intense research activity has been focused on the investigation of the biological roles of gasotransmitters such as nitric oxide (NO) and hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and on the development of NO-releasing or H2S-releasing agents as innovative cardiovascular drugs. Dr. Hagemeyer obtained a PhD from the University of Freiburg, Germany in 2001 for a thesis on steroid metabolism in the rodent brain. He made contributions to the field of brain cytochrome P450 enzymes, a large superfamily of heme-containing proteins, which play an important role in the oxidative metabolism of numerous endogenous and foreign compounds, predominantly in the liver. Dr. Hagemeyer changed his focus of research from neuroscience to cardiovascular science in 2002. Since then, he has mainly worked in the field of single-chain antibody technology, developing fusion proteins for improved anticoagulation and thrombolysis.

P.H. Reddy

P. Hemachandra Reddy is an associate scientist in the Division of Neuroscience and a faculty member of the Neuroscience Graduate Program. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in biology from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, India. He received an M.Phil in human cytogenetics from Delhi University. He was a commonwealth scholar (1990-1993) before receiving his Ph.D. (1994) in human genetics from London University. He did his postdoctoral training (1995-2000) at the National Human Genome Research Institute, Bethesda, MD. He joined the OHSU-Neurological Sciences Institute Faculty in July 2000, and joined the center in July 2008. Dr. Wei Wang is the director of TCM and Ethomedicine Innovation & Development Laboratory and professor in the School of Pharmacy at HUCM. He received a Ph.
