Malignant pleural mesotheliomais characterised by a large range of complex
genetic alterations and peculiarof this disease. The mesothelioma genome contains
extensive copy number alterations and aneuploidy which may correlate with response to
treatment and survival. The genetics of mesothelioma has increased considerably over
the last decade with major advances in whole genome and next generation sequencing.
The knowledge of the genomics of mesothelioma is essential for identifying new,
effective personalised therapeutic approaches therapies for improving clinical outcomes
in patients with mesothelioma.
