Anti Forensics is a collection of methods and approaches to obstruct and
avoid Digital Forensic investigations. For legal purposes, like criminal investigations or
civil lawsuits, Digital Forensics includes gathering, preserving, analyzing, and
presenting digital evidence. To make it more difficult for Forensic analysts to
reconstruct events, assign acts to particular people, or prove guilt or innocence, people
or organizations use Anti-Forensic strategies to obfuscate, distort, or delete digital
evidence. The chapter presents techniques procedures and countermeasures for digital
anti-forensics. The chapter also discusses anti-forensics ethical and legal ramifications.
