Mycetoma is a chronic disease characterized by the formation of grains seen
in the tropical and sub-tropical areas where the rate of rainfall is less. It is caused by
both bacteria and fungi called actinomycetoma and eumycetoma. Swelling on skin,
Painless nodules formed in this disease which later formed grains. In advanced stages
of the disease, it can lead to amputation. For diagnosis of this disease direct
microbiological observation, serological test, and imaging techniques used. For
treatment antibiotics and anti-fungal with surgery used depending upon the agent.
Herbal drugs can also be used.
