紫苏籽油作为轻度至中度痴呆患者的额外神经保护治疗的结果:随机对照试验

摘要

背景:痴呆症是老年人常见的医学疾病。氧化应激在痴呆的认知衰退过程中起主要作用。紫苏籽油通过抗痴呆的抗氧化机制表现出其神经保护作用。我们研究了紫苏籽油的神经保护作用,作为轻度至中度痴呆患者的额外治疗方法。 方法:对轻度至中度痴呆患者进行双盲,随机对照试验(紫苏籽油与安慰剂)。加入紫苏籽油或安慰剂,标准处理6个月。入组后9个月对认知功能进行了比较。 结果:182名患者,实验组94名,安慰剂组88名,能够完成研究。组间比较认知功能没有显着差异。然而,实验组的总胆固醇和LDL胆固醇显着降低。紫苏籽油对肾,肝,血液成分或葡萄糖代谢无不良影响。 结论:紫苏籽油作为轻度至中度痴呆患者的额外神经保护治疗并不能改善认知功能。紫苏籽油显着降低总胆固醇和LDL胆固醇。需要进行临床试验以证明紫苏子油对人体降胆固醇作用的益处。
