Robin shifted his interests toward the synthesis and evaluation of glycopeptide drugs at the University of Arizona starting in 1988. His glycosylated neuropeptides showed excellent biological activity, extended stability in vitro and in vivo, and also cross the blood-brain barrier to produce central effects. Presently, Robin is involved in the study of glycolipid surfactants as drug delivery vehicles in addition to the glycopeptide drugs, which also possess surface activity, which is key to their distribution in vivo.
