M. Ronjat University of Nantes Nantes France Biography Biography of M. Ronjat![]()
The main topic of my research has always been ion transport through
biological membranes. In a first period I investigated the structure-function
relationship of +H-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase using protein intrinsic
fluorescence as well as fluorescent analogues of ATP. I later focussed my
work on ion channels, in particular the voltage dependent L-type Ca2+
channels and the ryanodine receptors. I investigated the intra and
intermolecular interactions that control the coordinated activity of these
channels. Finally I investigated the effect of toxins on these channels and
currently explore the use of such toxin as potential pharmacological agent in
cardiopathies.
