Alves is professor, Inst. of Chemistry, State University of Campinas (Unicamp). He obtained his BSc (1974) and PhD (1977). He did postdoctoral work at Laboratory of Infrared and Raman Spectrochemistry of CNRS (France). His research on Raman spectroscopy, solid state chemistry and special glasses for optoelectronics later diversified into nanomaterials synthesis and their interactions with biosystems. He has advised over 50 PhD and MS theses. He has published over 230 peer-reviewed papers, and has been issued 30 patents. He served as President of Brazilian Chemical Society. His honours include: Brazilian Order for Scientific Merit (2002); Technology Innovation Award (2008); Inventor Award - Technology Absorbed by the Market (2011); Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (2015). He is member of Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Academy of Sciences of São Paulo State and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).

S. Fukuzumi

Shunichi Fukuzumi received Ph.D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1978. After a post-doctoral position in USA, he joined the faculty at Osaka University in 1981. He was promoted to a Full Professor in 1994. He is now a Distinguished Professor at Ewha Womans University and a Professor Emeritus at Osaka University. He has published 1100 papers with over 40,000 citations (h-index: 98). He is a recipient of the Chemical Society of Japan award (2005), Medal with Purple Ribbon from the Emperor (2011), and Richard Smalley Research Award (2017). His research interests are artificial photosynthesis and electron transfer chemistry.

Professor Hong received his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, U.K. in 1987. He is currently in charge of the Green Energy/Quantum Engineering Lab, and Intelligent Green Vehicle Lab in the Power Mechanical Engineering Department, National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. Ioannis G. Karafyllidis received the Dipl. Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. In 1992 he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, as a faculty member, where he is currently a Professor. Dr. Boris I. Kharisov (born in 1964, in Russia, has lived in Mexico from 1994, and naturalized in Mexico in 2003) is currently a Professor and Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL). He took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, working in the contaminated zone in 1987. Degrees: An MS in 1986, in radiochemistry and a PhD in inorganic chemistry in 1993, from the Moscow State University, Russia; Dr. Hab. in physical chemistry in 2006 from Rostov State University, Russia. Memberships: Mexican Academy of Science, National Researchers System (SNI, Level II), Materials Research Society. He is the co-author of nine books, 155 articles, 10 book chapters, and holds four patents. Co-editor: Three invited special issues of international journals. He is the member of the Editorial board of three journals. Specialties: Materials chemistry, coordination and inorganic chemistry, phthalocyanines, ultrasound, nanotechnology, chemical treatment of petroleum, environmental remediation. Ying-Jie Zhu is a full Professor at Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received Master degree and Ph. D. from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He worked as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at USTC from 1994 to 1997. From 1997 to 1998 he worked as a Visiting Professor at University of Western Ontario, Canada. From 1998 to 1999 he worked as an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at Fritz-Haber Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, Germany. He then was a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Utah and University of Delaware, USA, from 1999 to 2002. In 2002, he was selected by CAS under the Program for Recruiting Overseas Outstanding Talents (Hundred Talents Program). In 2007, he was selected under the Program of Outstanding Leader of Shanghai Subject Chief Scientist. He has published about 280 peer-reviewed journal papers and three book chapters. M. Henini

Mohamed Henini obtained his first degree at the University of Oran, Algeria. He went to Nottingham University and was awarded the PhD degree in 1984. Mohamed has over 25 years of experience in Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) growth. His particular speciality is the physics and technology of MBE growth for III-V electronic and optoelectronic devices. Dai Jiyan is currently a Professor of the Department of Applied Physics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his B.Sc. degree in physics from Fudan University in 1988, his M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1991, and his Ph.D. degree in Materials Physics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1994. Alvin Holder is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Old Dominion University (ODU). I have a long-standing interest in health disparity research and minority education programs. My area of research revolves around biological and inorganic chemistry, bioinorganic and inorganic reaction mechanisms, which includes: (i) Synthesis and characterization of supramolecular polypyridyl osmium(II), palladium(II), platinum(II), ruthenium(II), vanadium(IV), and vanadium(V) complexes for bioinorganic studies of DNA recognition and reactions by metallointercalators.

Jumras Limtrakul is currently President of the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology. After earning his Ph.D. at Innsbruck in 1984, Dr. Limtrakul spent a couple of years doing research at the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at Karlsruhe University in Germany, and then carried out his research on nanotechnology as a Visiting Professor at the University of Bordeaux, France.

Prof. Reshef Tenne received his PhD in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1976. Following a three years post-doctoral period in Battelle Institute in Geneva he joined the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot in 1979 and was promoted to a professor in 1995.
