Yousheng Tao

Dr. Tao obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Advanced Physical Chemistry from Chiba University, Japan, and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Geological Science from Chinese Academy of Geological Science, China. He is a Professor in Haixi Institutes, Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Guest Professor in Sichuan University, China. Since he worked as an Associate Professor in Faculty of Engineering, Shinshu University, Japan, and as a JSPS Researcher in Chiba University, Japan, Dr. Tao has been studying on mesoporous zeolites, nanosolutions and advanced nanocarbons such as graphene, carbon nanotubes and hierarchically structured nanoporous carbon. He has published more than 150 scientific publications. Dr. Tao is currently the Editor-in-Chief of this journal (Recent Innovations in Chemical Engineering, RICE), published by Bentham Science Publishers.

Dr. Deshusses holds degrees in chemical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Lausanne and Zurich). Dr. Deshusses was a professor and department chair at the University of California, Riverside prior to joining the faculty at Duke University in 2008. Dr. Deshusses' research is in the design, analysis and optimization of processes for waste treatment. Applications include biological treatment of air toxics, biogas production, waste to energy, and novel sanitation technologies for less developed countries.

Aiman Eid Al-Rawajfeh

Al-Rawajfeh is an associate professor of chemical engineering at Tafila Technical University (TTU) (Since 2004), Jordan. He is a certified Consultant of seawater desalination and environment. He received his PhD in Thermal Process Technology from Martin-Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. He has co-authored 60 refereed journal publications and similar number of conferences, besides contributing chapters to a number of books. He serves as an Associate Editor of Recent Innovations in Chemical Engineering and a member of the editorial board of Membrane Water Treatment and Arab Water World. His efforts in research have been recognized with the 2009 Scopus Award.

Dr. Dimitrios Rakopoulos, born in 1980, obtained his Diploma (2002) and Ph.D. degree (2007) in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Currently he is a Research Associate at the Internal Combustion Engines Laboratory of NTUA and the Chemical Processes & Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) of Center for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) and an Engineer Officer at the Greek Ministry of Environment & Energy. His research interests include: Diesel engines, power plants, CHP, District Heating, biomass, biofuels and renewable fuels. S. Kentish

Professor Sandra Kentish is Head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The University of Melbourne. She has broad interests in industrial separations, particularly the use of membrane technology for energy, food and water applications. She has been the Discipline Leader in the CRC for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC) for Membrane Technology since 2003. She has also been a member of the Research Advisory Committee for the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination since 2010. She was the Deputy Director of the Melbourne Energy Institute from 2009 - 2012. Professor Kentish has been awarded the Grimwade Prize in Industrial Chemistry, the Caltex Teaching Award of Excellence for Training of Chemical Engineers in Australasia and the Edward Brown Award and Kelvin Medal for Teaching Excellence within the University of Melbourne. Before commencing an academic career, Professor Kentish spent nine years in industry, with positions in Exxon Mobil, Kodak Australasia and Kimberly Clark Australia.

Dr. Jun Li is currently a Professor of College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University. He received his PhD degree from East China University of Science and Technology in 1998. His research mainly focuses on supercritical fluid-assisted separation, reaction and material preparation; he also engages in plant and setup design, process modeling and fundamentals such as thermodynamics, kinetics and transport phenomena. Prof. Xinhua Qi is a full professor of Agro-Environmental Protection Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. His research interest mainly focuses on reclamation of agricultural wastes, biomass conversion into value-added materials and chemicals and biomass-derived materials synthesis. Y. Zhou

Ying Zhou received his BSc and MSc from Central South University and Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively. In 2010, he received his PhD at University of Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Greta R. Patzke. He then continued his work with a postdoctoral Forschungskredit grant from UZH. He was also awarded a fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology with Prof. Jan-Dierk Grunwaldt. He currently holds a professorship at Southwest Petroleum University. His research interests in oil gas utilization and catalytic materials as well as in situ techniques on materials synthesis and action.

He is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Ilam University, Iran. Ioan-Cezar MARCU received his BSc in Chemistry and Physics in 1995 and his MSc in Catalysis in 1996 at the University of Bucharest, Romania. In 2002 he received his PhD in Catalysis from the University “Claude Bernard” Lyon 1, France, and in 2013 he obtained its Habilitation in Chemistry. He was awarded the Young Scientist Prize of International Association of Catalysis Societies in 2004. Professor Yang Gan obtained BE from Sichuan University (1995), both ME (1998) and PhD (2001) from Institute of Metal Research of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before joining Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in 2006, he took postdoctoral and visiting scholar positions in University of Science and Technology Beijing, Newcastle University and Melbourne University. Laurence Weatherley is the Albert P Learned Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Kansas. Weatherley received his PhD from the University of Cambridge in Chemical Engineering for research on ion exchange kinetics in macroporous resins. He has published over 200 research papers, articles, conference papers and other contributions. A.Y. Zekri

Professor A.Y. Zekri received his B.Sc., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Southern California. He has spent more than two decades in the petroleum industry. Professor Zekri worked as a consultant to the management committees of Waha Oil Co., and Agip Oil Company. He has authored and/or co-authored more than 90 papers on new developments and technical issues in the areas of improved oil recovery, flow through porous media, and environmental aspects of petroleum production, petroleum contracts, and Enhanced Oil Recovery. He has edited and refereed technical papers in widely respected journals. Prof. Zekri has completed a number of research projects in the area of IOR/EOR to UAE and International Petroleum Industries. Professor Zekri is currently working as Coordinator of Oil and Gas Technologies, Emirates Center for Energy and Environment Research and Professor of petroleum engineering at the United Arab Emirates University.
