Biography of Javier Carrasco
Dr. Javier Carrasco obtained his PhD in 2006 from the University of Barcelona. Since 2015 he leads the Computational Studies group at CIC Energigune. Before this position, he has been Alexander von Humboldt fellow at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society (2007-2008), Newton International fellow at University College London (2009-2010), and Ramón y Cajal fellow at the Institute of Catalysis and Petroleum Chemistry of the Spanish National Research Council (2011-2013). His current research aims at understanding important phenomena in surface-, materials-, and nano-science in the power storage field. Using concepts from quantum mechanics, solid state physics.

Dr Holger Becker is co-founder and CSO of microfluidic ChipShop GmbH. He obtained physics degrees from the University of Western Australia/Perth and the University of Heidelberg. He started to work on miniaturized systems for chemical analysis during his PhD thesis at Heidelberg University, where he obtained his PhD in 1995. Between 1995 and 1997 he was a Research Associate at Imperial College. In 1998 he joined Jenoptik Mikrotechnik GmbH.
