Carlos Manuel Franco Abuín obtained a Veterinary degree in 1989. He specialized in Food Science and did PhD in Nutrition and Bromatology in 1994. He completed the post-doctoral stages from the University of Paris XI and the University Complutense of Madrid. He has a lot of experience in food quality and food safety due to his research work with more than 50 different companies involved in the commercialization of new foods or foods with quality label and has authored or coauthored more than 120 peer reviewed papers as well as book chapters etc. Currently, he is full professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela and deliver lectures on Human Nutrition and Dietetics and Veterinaria.
