Isotta Chimenti is Researcher/Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical Surgical Sciences and Biotechnologies, and Junior Fellow of the Superior School for Advanced Studies at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. She is MS in Medical Biotechnology and PhD in Experimental Medicine. She has been a postdoc fellow at Johns Hopkins University, Cedars Sinai Heart Institute, and at Pasteur Institute – Italy. Her research activity is focused on cardiac cell therapy and cardiac tissue engineering, adult stem cells, mechano-sensing, and oxidative stress in the cardiovascular system. She is funded as PI by several Italian National grants, and participant in a European Horizon 2020 project. She co-authored 50 Scopus indexed publications.

Dr. Yang is a Research Faculty at the City College of New York. He received a B.S.
degree in Mathematics from National Taiwan University, a M.S. degree in

current faculty position, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Center for Stem

Houston. The objective of Dr. Yang’s research is to develop innovative engineering
technologies in order to create models that help understand the pathophysiology of
disease and optimize bioprocessing strategies toward regeneration of human tissues.

Dr. Heedoo Lee is a professor at the Department of Biology and Chemistry in Changwon National University, Korea. His main research interest revolves around the biological/physiological function of extracellular vesicles (EVs) and non-coding RNAs in pulmonary diseases, including acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome and non-coding RNAs. Yonggang Lv received the Ph.D. degree in Refrigeration and Cryogenic Engineering
with specialty in bioengineering from the Technical Institute of Physics and
Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing, in 2005. He served as a
postdoctoral research associate/research fellow at the City College of the City
University of New York and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He joined the
Bioengineering College at Chongqing University as Full Professor in March 2009 and
won the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, Ministry of
Education of China in 2010. He became a senior visiting scholar in Prof. Shu Chien’s
laboratory at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) from July to October 2014.
He has published over 100 peer referred journal papers, edited 3 books, and holds 9
China patents. His research interests include mechanobiology and regenerative
medicine, stem cell biology, and cancer biology.
Dr. Lv is the Vice Chairman of hemorheology committee in Chinese Society of
Microcirculation. He is an associate editor of Medical & Biological Engineering &
Computing and an editorial member of Biotechnology Letters.
