Valery V. Tuchin is a Professor and Head of Optics and Biophotonics at Saratov State University (National Research University of Russia) and several other universities. His research interests include tissue optics, laser medicine, tissue optical clearing, and nanobiophotonics. He is a fellow of SPIE and OSA, has been awarded Honored Science Worker of the Russia, Honored Professor of Saratov University, SPIE Educator Award, FiDiPro (Finland), Chime Bell Prize of Hubei Province (China), NanQiang Life Science Series Lectures Award of Xiamen University (China), and Joseph W. Goodman Book Writing Award (OSA/SPIE).

She works as researcher at Biological Laboratory of the Department of Medical Oncology, Morgagni-Pierantoni Hospital, Forlì, from 2001 to 2008, and from 2008 to now at Istituto Scientifico Romagnolo per lo Studio e la Cura dei Tumori (IRST) IRCCS, Meldola. She is specialized in the field of molecular biology and translational research, in particular in lung cancer and gastrointestinal tumors.

Dr. Jianqiang Xu is currently active as an associate professor of biochemistry in School of Life Science and Medicine and as Vice Director of Panjin Industrial Technology Institute at Dalian University of Technology (DUT). He completed his B.S. degree in 2002 and Ph.D. degree in 2008 with Professor Qing Yang at DUT. From 2009 to 2014, he received PostDoc training with Professor Elias Arnér (Karolinska Institutet, Sweden). In 2015, he started his independent research career at Panjin Campus of DUT. His research mainly focuses on selenium biology and its biological and medical applications to solve health and disease issues.

Dr Roviello current research interests are genitourinary oncology (particularly prostate cancer), gastric cancers and Immunotherapy.
