K.W. Gross Roswell Pk. Canc. Inst Buffalo, NY USA Biography
Biography of K.W. Gross
For many years, I have focused on addressing basic questions relevant to the regulation of renin gene expression and the role of the renin-angiotensin system in higher vertebrate development and physiology. The majority of these studies have focused on the kidney and recent work has focused on exploring ramifications of our identification of the renin-expressing cell as found in the developing kidney vasculature as an ‘activated pericyte’.
Most recently, we have constructed transgenic strains that utilize BAC constructs to drive expression from the Ren promoter of GFP directly, or Cre recombinase or Cre-ERT2 recombinase constructs to activate floxed constitutive fluorescence reporters, or conditionally delete or activate other loci.
