Zhen Zhou

Dr. Zhou received Ph D in Chemistry from Nankai University, China, and worked at Nagoya University, Japan as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow. Currently Dr. Zhou is a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, and the Director of Institute of New Energy Material Chemistry, Nankai University. He has published over 200 papers and obtained 10 patents.

Dr. Zhou is currently the Editor-in-Chief of this journal (Current Graphene Science, CGS), published by Bentham Science Publishers.

R. Gupta

Dr. Ram Gupta joined Pittsburg State University as an Assistant Professor in 2013. Before joining to Pittsburg State University, he worked as an Assistant Research Professor at Missouri State University, Springfield, MO then as a Senior Research Scientist at North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC. Dr. Gupta’s research focus on green energy production and storage using conducting polymers and composites, nanomaterials, optoelectronics and photovoltaics devices, organic-inorganic hetero-junctions for sensors, nanomagnetism, bio-based polymers, bio-compatible nanofibers for tissue regeneration, scaffold and antibacterial applications, bio-degradable metallic implants. Dr. Gupta has published more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented/attended more than 100 national/international conferences. He is a member of editorial board and reviewer for various leading science journals. Dr. Gupta has received several internal and external (NSF, DoE, KINBRE, USA) funding to promote research and educational activities.

G. Malucelli

Dr. Malucelli obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from Università degli Studi di Genova (Italy) in 1996. Dr. Malucelli also holds a MSc. in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino (Italy).

Currently, Dr. Malucelli is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Torino, Dept. of Applied Science and Technology. He co-authored more than 180 peer-reviewed papers dealing with polymer micro- and nanocomposite coatings, frontal polymerization, flame retardancy of polymers, composites and textiles.

F. El-Tantawy

He obtained his B.Sc. in Physics from Suez Canal University in 1985. Since 1985, he was employed as a Demonstrator and laboratory instructor. He obtained his Ph.D. in Advanced Ceramics for Electrical and Biomedical Applications in 1997 Channel System between Suez Canal University and National Research Center of Ceramics, Faenza, Italy. He was selected as an Visiting Professor in 1999 at the University of Niggata, Japan. He joined the University of Niggata, Faculty of Engineering in 2001 to start a tenure track academic career as Professor. He is also Curriculum Consultant to University in King Abdulaziz University.

Q. Zheng

Professor Zheng received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Before rejoined HKUST, he was an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden, Germany. Professor Zheng is currently a Research Assistant Professor of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Junior Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) at HKUST.

O. Metin

Dr. Önder Metin obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Middle East Technical University, TURKEY in 2010. He then made post-doctoral studies at Department of Chemistry, Brown University (Rhode Island/USA) in 2013 for one year. He has published 56 papers with the total citations more than 2200 and h-index of 25. He is working as an Associate Professor at Department of Chemistry, Atatürk University on transition metal nanoparticles, bimetallic nanoparticles, nanocatalysis, graphene-based materials, hydrogen storage, electrocatalysis and rechargeable Li-air batteries. He has served as the subject Editor for Turkish Journal of Chemistry since 2013.

B. Basu

Basudeb Basu did Ph.D. from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata, working on the synthesis of fused and bridged ring systems related to natural products. He has been working at North Bengal University, Siliguri, India and currently as Professor of Chemistry. He did post-doctoral works at Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA (1987-’89) on total synthesis of marine natural products, and at Lund University, Sweden (1994-’96), on asymmetric synthesis of non-natural amino acids. He was Visiting Professor in Sweden, France, Taiwan, China. His current research interests include new reactions and methodology involving graphene-based materials and green chemistry.

D.S. Huh

Dr. Do Sung Huh, Ph.D.-chemistry, now is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry, and of Nanoscience and Engineering. He got his B Sc in chemical education at Seoul University, M Sc and Doctor's degree in chemistry (Ph.D.) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Currently Dr. Do Sung Huh’s researches focus on the Functional materials using stimuli-sensitive polymers including photo-responsive polymers, pH-sensitive hydrogels, temperature sensitive hydrogels, and conducting polymer composites based on polyaniline and polypyrrole. And also, he is focusing on the fabrication of honeycomb-patterned porous polymer films using breath figure method by the evaporation of polymer solution under humid conditions.

W. Lei

Dr. Weiwei Lei obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) from State Key Lab of Superhard Materials, Jilin University, China (2010). He was a research fellow at The Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Germany in 2010–2011. He is a senior research scientist at Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM), Deakin University, Australia under an ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA). He is a member of The Editorial Board of Scientific Reports from the publishers pf Nature from 2015. His research interests include development of two-dimensional nanomaterials and their composite films for environmental protection, energy storage, and photonic and biological applications.

J. A. Rather

Dr. Jahangir Ahmad Rather is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. He completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship (Non-Postdoc Fellowship by the Belgian Science Policy, Belspo) from the Environmental Analysis group, Department of Chemistry, University of Antwerp, Belgium. He received his PhD and MSc in chemistry from the Jiwaji University, Gwalior, India in 2011 and 2008 respectively.

His research focus involves development of electrochemical sensors based on graphene, carbon nanotubes and biosensors based on Enzymes and Aptamers conjugated nanomaterials for detection of the endocrine disruptors in real samples. He has used solubilized system for the electroanalysis of target molecules, which may lead to the path of green technology. He has published 25 articles in high impact journals.

T. Jiao

Dr. Tifeng Jiao is a professor and vice director of School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Yanshan University. He received his PhD degree in physical chemistry from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2006. Afterwards he worked at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (France) as a Postdoctoral Associate of CNRS. Now his research interests focus on the preparation, assembly and applications of nanomaterials and nanocomposites. Up to now, he has published more than 110 SCI-indexed papers and acted as peer reviewers for more than 30 Journals as well as Guest Editors of several journals.

Q. Peng

Dr. Qing Peng is a Research Fellow in the department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences, University of Michigan, visiting scholar of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an adjunct professor of Wuhan University. His research focuses on advanced materials mechanics using multiscale, first-principles, molecular dynamics, and finite-element modeling and simulations. He is the main developer of the QCDFT (Quasi-Continuum Density Functional Theory) which allows standard density functional theory calculations of materials at micron scales and beyond. His most recent work is about mechanics under extreme conditions, including high dose radiation damage.

H. Roghani-Mamaqani

Hossein Roghani-Mamaqani was born in Tabriz on August 11, 1985. He completed his bachelor’s degree in polymer engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT). As an MSc student, he worked on synthesis of nanocomposites by in situ controlled radical methods at the same university and was awarded the Outstanding MSc Researcher Prize. He completed his PhD with a project on in situ synthesis of nanocomposites with carbon based nanofillers like graphene and carbon nanotube and also various grafting reactions. He worked in Petrochemical Research and Technology Company as a researcher. He has been working as advisor to president of Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI). Currently, he is an assistant professor of Polymer Engineering Department at Sahand University of Technology. He was nominated as the young recognized assistant professor by National Elite Foundation. Also, he is a member of Iran Polymer Society and Iran Chemical Engineering Society. His research interest lies in the area of polymerization reactions and kinetics, controlled/living polymerization reactions in various reaction mediums.

C. Cheng

Chong Cheng is a DRS and AvH postdoc researcher in Freie Universität Berlin. He obtained his BS degree in Biomedical Engineering, Sichuan University. Then, he pursued his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Changsheng Zhao. From 2013, he had been doing research works at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with Prof. Nicholas A. Kotov as Joint-Training Ph.D. student. After finishing his Ph.D studies, he joined the group of Prof. Dr. Rainer Haag as a DRS POINT and Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral researcher in the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Freie Universität Berlin.

R. Kumar

Rajesh Kumar is a visiting scientist in the Center for Semi-conductor Components and Nanotechnology (CCS Nano), University of Campinas (UNICAMP), São Paulo, Brazil.. He earned his Ph.D. (Physics) degree from Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U), India. He has worked in KAIST, Daejeon (Postdoctoral Researcher) and Yonsei University (Research Professor), Seoul, South Korea. His main research interests are the synthesis, characterization, modifications, assemblies and applications of the graphitic carbon nano-materials as graphene and CNTs. He has published two international book chapters, five review articles and several research articles in peer-reviewed international journals.

S. Sharma

Dr Surbhi Sharma completed her PhD on graphene oxide (Ulster University) in 2011. Before this, she acquired her BSc.(Hons.) degree in Physics followed by Masters in Nanoscience. She worked at the Centre for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Research (University of Birmingham, 2011-2016) as a teaching fellow. She is also a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. She has extensively studied graphene materials and their applications in low temperature fuel cells and other electrochemical systems. She has also explored polymer-metal nanoparticle hybrid coatings for stainless steel bipolar plates and bacteria assisted simultaneous reduction of and metal nanoparticle deposition on graphene. She has over 24 peer reviewed journal publications (citations >1250). She is also the Editorial Board Member for the journal Nano-Micro Letters, Springer.

L.C. Wei

Lai’s main research interests are in the areas of chemically modified metal oxide photocatalysts and graphene materials, especially applied in environmental pollution management and solar energy technology. Lai has spent more than 7 years to develop, optimize and simplify the technology lies in the synthesis of nanoparticles, metal oxide nano-architecture and carbon/graphene materials which are of high significance for green energy and environment applications.
