Dr. Olivier Civelli is Chair of the Pharmacology Department of University of California, Irvine. He received his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute in Zurich. He was a founding member of the Vollum Institute in Portland, OR. He was also Vice President at F. Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel. He spearheaded the field of G protein-coupled receptors by cloning the dopamine receptors and the field of reverse pharmacology by discovering the first natural ligand of an orphan GPCR. His interests center on the discovery of novel neurotransmitters and of their uses in pharmaceutical research. His present studies of TCMs stem from his interest in finding multi-targeted drugs.

Patricia Faivre Rampant has been working as a research scientist at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) for 25 years.
