CLAUDIU T. SUPURAN is professor of medicinal chemistry at the Neurofarba Department, Section of Pharmaceutical and Nutriceutical Sciences, University of Florence, Italy. He has published more than 1250 papers, his Hirsch factor is h = 110; the number of citations since 1995 > 49800. His main research interest is on enzyme inhibitors, and especially carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, of which he discovered several new classes in the last years. One of the sulfonamides discovered in his group entered Phase I clinical trials in 2014 for the treatment of advanced, metastatic solid tumors. He is Editor-in-Chief of Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Patents, Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, Current Enzyme Inhibition, etc. For the last 25 years the main interest of his research was focused on metallo-enzymes and their modulators of activity. In 2013 he was rated as the most cited scientists in Pharmacology & Toxicology by LabTimes (LabTimes 2013, 5, 38).

Her research interests involve synthesis and biological studies and the use of Computational Chemistry in Drug Design and resulted in the publication of over 220 peer-reviewed articles over 5000 citations and h factor = 38. Currently is the Editor of this journal (Current Enzyme Inbibition, CEI), published by Bentham Science Publishers.

Prof. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Kulliyyah of Science, IIUM, Malaysia. He has published more than 40 papers in reputed journals.

Dr. Marc A. Ilies was born and educated in Romania, and received his PhD in 2001 with Professor Alexandru T. Balaban from C. D. Nenitzescu’s Department of Organic Chemistry of Polytechnic University of Bucharest. After post-doctoral studies from Texas A&M University and University of Pennsylvania, he joined the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, Temple University, where he is currently an Associate Professor and an affiliated member of Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research. His research interests fit within the broadly-defined medicinal chemistry/chemical biology of membrane interfaces, being focused on the development of chemical solutions for the efficient and selective delivery of drugs and nucleic acids for therapeutic purposes.

Dr. Giosuè Costa obtained a degree in “Pharmacy” with full marks in 2008 from the University "Magna Græcia" of Catanzaro. Then he followed the three- year doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, continuing his research activity in the field of interactions between bio-molecules by innovative molecular modeling tools. In 2012, at the same University, he obtained the Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, discussing a thesis entitled "Computational studies applied to HIV-1 macromolecular targets and implications in rational drug design of new selective antiviral agents". Dr. Giosuè Costa collaborates with several foreign departments. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Health Science of “Magna Graecia” University of Catanzaro (Italy) with H-index= 18 (Scopus) and no. of citations = 810 (Scopus). His scientific interests concern the application of new computational algorithms, and in particular Virtual Screening techniques, for the study of intermolecular drug-receptor interactions and the design of potential antitumoral, antiviral, analgesic and antidepressant drugs. In the nutraceutical field, his interest is mainly in the identification of potential therapeutic activities in natural products contained in foods. Furthermore, in the field of drug discovery, he studies the "repositioning" for other therapeutic indications (or rationalizing some side effects) of drugs previously approved by the FDA.

Dr. Clemente Capasso is a researcher at the National Research Council. This allowed him to acquire extensive knowledge of most protein purification procedures as well as kinetic, chemical–physical and structural characterization of enzymes. He has written 13 book chapters and published over 100 papers. He acquired an intense training in Italian and international laboratories. He is the Associate Editor of Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, and is in the Editorial Board of the journal Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Patents.
