He is the Editor of 5 books on Biosensors, author/co-author of over 150 scientific articles, and the Editor of many scientific journals. In graduate studies, Dr. Jena developed a sugar diet-induced diabetes rat model to study the effect of microbiota and probiotic intervention in lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. Currently, at University of California Davis, Dr. Jena has been working on Western diet through bile acid signaling pathways and gut microbiota effect on gastrointestinal carcinogenesis and metabolism.
