Professor Manuel Graeber MD PhD FRCPath is a neuropathologist and the Barnet-Cropper Chair and Director of Brain Tumour Research at the University of Sydney. Following a position as staff member at the Max-Planck-Institute for Psychiatry in Munich, Germany, he spent three years as a post-doctoral fellow at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. From 1992 to1999 he returned to Munich where he headed a molecular neuropathology laboratory first at the University of Munich and then at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology.
In 2000, Manuel Graeber founded the University Department of Neuropathology at Imperial College London. He decided to close down the Department for ethical reasons related to brain banking and won a whistle-blowing case in 2008 with funding and support from the British Medical Association.
