Yang, MD, PhD, received his MD and PhD from the University of Miami School of Medicine and continued post-graduate training in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Vanderbilt University as a Holman Pathway Resident Research Scholar. He subsequently joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2010 and is currently Professor and Vice Chair of Translational Sciences in the Department of Radiation Oncology. He also holds joint appointments in the departments of cell, developmental, and integrative biology as well as pharmacology and toxicology at UAB. Dr. Yang is the inaugural holder of the ROAR Southeast Cancer Foundation Endowed Chair and Director of the UAB Nanostring Laboratory.

Dr. Imran Shahid is an assistant Professor at Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah, Saudi Arabia where his research is focused on the broad areas of host-virus networks in HCV disease progression as well as host-virus genes expression during oxidative stress, hepatic steatosis, fibrosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. He is also enthusiastically involved in the studies of HCV infection biology, Cell signaling pathways and genome heterogeneity in the Saudi population. He was trained from applied and functional genomics laboratory, National Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (NCEMB), University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan where he worked on anti-mRNA based treatment strategies against hepatitis C virus 1a genotype in Pakistani population. Dr. Imran has published many research articles in peer-reviewed international journals and a member of the editorial board of several international journals.

Gaetano Gallo is a Researcher at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, University “Magna
Græcia”, Catanzaro (Italy). In 2018 he completed a clinical training fellowship in IBD and colorectal
tumors at the University of Amsterdam – Academic Medical Center.
In 2016 and 2018 he has been awarded a fellowship by the Brazilian Society of Surgical Oncology (BSSO)
and by the Japanese Society of Coloproctology (JSCP). His clinical and research interests include haemorrhoidal disease, rectovaginal and perianal fistula
fistulas, minimally invasive treatment of pilonidal sinus (EPSiT), rectal prolapse, colorectal tumors and
IBD as well as functional pelvic floor diseases. He has also a special interest in translational research
(microRNA and microbiome).Since 2017, he is member of the Cohort Studies Committee of European Society of Coloproctology
(ESCP) and Y-SICCR (Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery) Chair.
Gaetano Gallo has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals in the field of Colorectal
and General Surgery. Moreover, he is also reviewer for the most important european journals in the
field of Colorectal Surgery and Proctology.
