Dr. Zulqarnain Baloch is a associate professor at College of Veterinary Medicine, South China Agricultural University China. He received his PhD from Kunming University of Science and Technology China. Dr. Zulqarnain Baloch and his group have also conduct research on introducing tree shrews, rats, rabbits and Cynomolgus Monkeys as potential animal model for infectious and non-infectious diseases. His contribution in Molecular Biology especially microbiology, epidemiology and animal model development has been recognized at home and abroad and his research work has been published in more than 36 peer reviewed research papers in International Science certified index based Journals with an overall impact factor of more than 105.2. Prof Fhatuwani Nixwell Mudau completed a B.Sc Agric (Crop Science) at the University of Venda in 1996. He then registered M.Sc. in Horticulture at the University of Stellenbosch where he conducted research on citrus nutrition. He completed a PhD (Horticultural Sciences) at the University of Pretoria and he has done extensive research in herbal medicine. He has completed Masters in Business Leadership (MBL) at UNISA Graduate School of Business Leadership. His previous working experience includes Vista University VUDEC, Campus (Now Incorporated to University of South Africa), University of Venda and University of Limpopo as a Lecturer. In 2006, he was seconded to establish a fully funded Research Centre as an Associate Professor and Centre Manager known as Limpopo Agro Food Technology Station (LATS) by Tshumisano Trust (Now Technology Innovation Agency (TIA). He then joined the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) under Food and Beverages (Now Agro-Industries) Strategic Business Unit (SBU); HealthCare and Education (SBU) as a Specialist.

His key research domains are Food Microbiology, Medical Microbiology (Antimicrobial resistance), Environmental Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Genomics and Proteomics, Molecular Modeling and Computational Drug Designing. His major research focuses are study of the biopreserbation potential of lactic acid bacteria towards several food items, selection and screening of novel natural therapeutic against probable drug targets of multidrug resistant bacteria isolated from various sources by structure based virtual screening approaches. He has modeled and validated novel drug targets for several pathogenic bacteria and viruses by computational biology approaches. He has screened novel chromophoric and fluorophoric therapeutic metabolites towards drug resistant bacteria from symbiotic bacteria associated with marine sponges. He has identified several novel thermophilic bacterial consortia screened from extreme environments that can degrade low and high density polyethylene and polypropylene. He is the member of 15 National & International scientific and professional societies. He has authored 44 International papers, 65 conferences proceedings, one text book and 6 book chapters. He has received several awards and travel grants for his research. He served as editorial board member of five international journals and reviewer for more than 45 international journals published by Nature groups, Elsevier, Springer, Tailor & Francis, Wiley-Blackwell, Oxford Journals, BMC Journals, Bentham Sciences etc. He has received several grants from various funding agencies and honored as plenary speaker in various National and International conferences and symposiums.

Born in Foggia on March 30th 1979, Vittorio Capozzi obtained his laurea degree in Food Science and
Technology on April 28th 2005 at the University of Foggia. He got his Ph.D. in Biotechnology of Food
Products on February 3th 2009. During his Ph.D., he spent 9 months in Dijon (France), the Institut Jules
Guyot, Université de Bourgogne and at the National School of Biology Applied to Nutrition and Food. He
has post-doc experiences in the following institutions: Agricultural Research Council (CRA) of Italy,
University of Foggia, Science Institute of Vine and Wine of the Bordeaux University, Free University of
Bozen, Edmund Mach Foundation. He is a co-author of 11 book chapters and 101 papers published in peer-
reviewed international journals.
