Professor Noguchi completed his MD in 1996 and his PhD in 2002 at the Okayama University, Japan. He worked at Harvard Medical School (2002-2003). He achieved the Japanese first case of islet transplantation from non-heart-beating donor (2004), the world’s first success with living donor islet transplantation (2005), and Japanese first case of islet transplantation from brain-dead donor (2013). He was the Director of Regenerative Research Islet Cell Transplant Program at Baylor Research Institute (BRI, US) (2009-2010). He is currently the Professor of Department of Regenerative Medicine and Director of Regenerative Medicine Research Center at University of the Ryukyus.

After her postdoctoral research work at the Center for Musculoskeletal Research of University of Rochester Medical Center, USA and the Center for Biomedical Engineering of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA from 2005 to 2008, WANG joined Tsinghua University in 2008. Her current research interests focus on nerve regeneration, cranial bone regeneration, and angiogenesis.

He is a Chair of Multidisciplinary Neuroscience Alliance in UCF and a Chair of Central Florida Chapter of Society for Neuroscience. He published more than 200 papers in neurodegenerative disease and stem cell research, and some of them were reported by Washington Post, BBC, NBC, ABC and other media in all over the world.

Dr. Sugaya is also a founder and a chair of Progenicyte, which is a biotech company holding his 67 patents licensed from UCF.

Wolfgang Wagner is Professor of Stem Cell Biology and Cellular Engineering at RWTH Aachen University Medical School (Germany). His laboratory employs iPSC as in vitro disease models and genome editing to interrogate the underlying gene regulatory networks and epigenetic bases of monogenic and complex neurological diseases.

Dr Xian is a Research Professor and NHMRC Senior Research Fellow at University of South Australia. He has more than 25 years of experience in research on tissue growth and repair, growth plate biology and bone growth, bone repair and regeneration, cancer chemotherapy-induced bone defects, and osteoporosis. Dr Xian obtained his PhD in 1993 from Murdoch University; and his earlier research positions include those at Child Health Research Institute, University of Adelaide, Flinders University, and Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Dr Xian has over 140 peer-reviewed publications.

Professor Xiao is currently a group leader of Bone and Tissue Engineering at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He obtained his BDSc and MDSc from Wuhan University, China, and has more than 10 years clinical experience. In 2000, he graduated with a PhD from School of Dentistry at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. He is currently the Director of Australia-China Centre for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (ACCTERM). He has published two edited books, 10 invited book chapters and more than 180 journal papers. In the last five years, Professor Xiao’s citation index (h-index: 40) has risen significantly with more than 4000 citations. He has delivered more than 20 Plenary/Keynote speeches in international conferences and over 50 invited presentations.

Her focuses in understanding how mesenchymal stem cell secretome controls the microenvironment and its consequences on cell fate and evaluation of biomaterials for application on Bone Bioengineering.
