Toshifumi Dohi (TD), a Professor at Ritsumeikan University, received his MS degree in 2002 (Prof. S. Murai) from the Graduate School of Engineering of Osaka University, Japan, and PhD in 2005 (Prof. Y. Kita) from the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Osaka University, where he studied new reactivities of transition metal catalysts and synthetic chemistry using hypervalent iodine reagents. After finishing PhD work, he subsequently became Assistant Professor at Osaka University, and was promoted to Associate Professor (PI) in 2014 at Ritsumeikan University. His current research interest is focused on reagent/catalyst design and asymmetric oxidation in hypervalent iodine chemistry. T.D. received the IUPAC-ICOS 15 Poster Award for most excellent presentation, the PSJ Award for Young Scientists (2009), Banyu Chemist Award (2013), Thieme Chemistry Journal Award (2014), and GSC Encouragement Award (2015) on his researches. Francesco Parrino is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Trento, Italy. He graduated cum laude in Chemical Engineering from the University of Palermo in 2005 and got a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen–Nürnberg, Germany, in 2009. His research activity deals with the preparation and characterization of photocatalysts for degradation of pollutants and for green synthesis of organic molecules. His scientific production conjugates mechanistic and fundamental aspects of heterogeneous photocatalysis with engineering issues for industrial applications. He has authored approximately 80 joint papers in collaboration with scientists from all over the world and several communications for international conferences on these topics. He is editor of the 2021 Elsevier book “Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and its applications”.

He has held over 125 special university lectureships and presented over 270 Plenary Lectures at national and international meetings. He has published two books and over 960 scientific articles. In recognition of his many contributions, he has received numerous honors and awards from around the world.

Gu has a broad interest in homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, organic synthesis, biomass valorization and utilization, and green solvents like ionic liquids and bio-based media. Gu has published more than 100 research papers, and contributed four book chapters in the fields. From 2014 to 2016, Yanlong Gu was one of the Elsevier Most Cited Chinese researchers in the area of Chemical Engineering.

Currently Dr. Gitsov is Professor of Polymer Chemistry and Chair in the Department of Chemistry at the State University of New York-College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He is also Director of the Michael M. Szwarc Polymer Research Institute and member of Syracuse Biomaterials Institute. Dr. Gitsov is the author and coauthor of more than 80 publications and 14 patents. His honors include the William and Mary Greve Foundation Award in Polymer Science and the Cotrell Scholarship from the Research Corporation for Advancement of Science.

From 1996–2000 he worked on synthetic applications of biotransformations in the group of prof. K. Faber at the Technical and Karl-Franszens Universities in Graz, Austria. Later, he served the VU University Amsterdam. Since 2007, he holds the chair of Synthetic & Bio-organic Chemistry in Amsterdam. His main research interest focuses on sustainable synthetic method development employing cascade, domino (or tandem) processes. He is one of the leading players in the field of multicomponent, tandem and diversity oriented synthesis-related chemistry.

He obtained his MSc from BHU (in 1998) and PhD from CDRI-JNU (in 2004) followed by postdoctoral research experience at University of Florida (with Prof. Alan R Katritzky, 2005), University of California-Davis (with Prof. Xi Chen, 2007) and Universitat Konstanz, Germany (with Prof. Richard R Schmidt, 2009). He was offered a Lectureship at Bundelkhand University (2004-2005) before being appointed in BHU, India (2005-continued) where he started his independent research career. His current research focuses on Synthetic Carbohydrate Chemistry and Novel synthetic methodology. With more than 17 years of research and twelve years of teaching experience, Dr. Tiwari completed nine PhD thesis, five major projects and significantly contributed 121 peer reviewed publications (h-index: 27, citation: 2580) including 8 Patents and 12 invited Book chapters of high repute. He delivered numerous invited lectures (over 75) at different institutes in India and abroad and holds editorial board member of four international journals as well Joint Secretary, Association of Carbohydrate Chemist & Technologist of India (ACCTI). In 2009, she started to work in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the University of Barcelona for an industrial project in collaboration with a company devoted to chemical research and development for fine chemicals, with a strong focus on asymmetric chemistry. Later, she joined Instituto de Tecnologia Química (ITQ-CSIC-UPV) working on a European project, to develop innovative heterogeneized catalysts, improving her skills in the field of solid characterization techniques. Currently, she is working in AIMPLAS and her research interests include synthesis and improvement of reactions for industrial applications based in CO2 transformations (polymers), chemical recycling and industrial optimizations. She has published 13 articles in scientific international journals and she has participated in the national and international conferences in the field of organometallic and homogeneous catalysis.

Dr. Liu obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry from Nankai University. Currently Dr. Liu is an Associate Professor at the Zhejiang University of Technology, College of Chemical Engineering and a Visiting Scientist of US Department of Agriculture, Natural Products Utilization Research Unit. His research interests are synthesis of novel bioactive heterocycles. He has published more than 100 scientific papers and is a named inventor of more than 40 authorized CN patents. Dr. Salvatore also serves on the Citizens’ Advisory Board Committee for the Pueblo Chemical Depot. The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant is a chemical weapons destruction facility which has been built to destroy the chemical weapons stockpile at the Pueblo Chemical Depot, in southeastern Colorado. In 2016, Dr. Salvatore relocated back to Florida and joined the faculty at Southeastern University as a Professor in 2016 teaching General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry I & II and Pharmacology & Toxicology and other special topic’s classes. In addition, he serves as a Courtesy Faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, Tampa, FL.

He served as a reviewer for many international journals as well as a member in the scientific committee of many international conferences and is now the vice president of Damietta University, Egypt since 2015. In 2013-2014, she completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in Paris at the École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles. Dr. Gosecka became an assistant professor in the Department of Polymer Materials Engineering and obtained funding for the implementation of the three-year SONATA project from the National Science Centre in Poland. The project concerned the creation of a new type of supramolecular network using, for the first time, glycoluril molecular "clip" homodimers as network nodes. By the IAAM organization during the Silver Jubilee Assembly in Stockholm, she was awarded the medal: Young Scientist Medal of the Year 2019. Moreover, in 2019, Dr. Gosecka was awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science in Poland with a scholarship for a young outstanding scientist. In 2018, Dr. Gosecka became the head of the research team created as part of the restructuring program at the CBMiM PAN. In 2019, Dr. Gosecka won the SONATA BIS grant competition. As part of a four-year project, she is focused on the elaboration of a novel of polymer-based drug carrier suitable for the gynaecological therapies. Generally, the research subject of Dr. Gosecka concerns reversibly cross-linked polymer systems with thermosensitive and chemoresponsive properties towards specific organic compounds. Her research interests are in the area of synthetic and mechanistic heterocyclic organic chemistry. She is particularly concerned with the development of synthetic routes to new bioactive molecules.

Toshifumi Dohi (TD), a Professor at Ritsumeikan University, received his MS degree in 2002 (Prof. S. Kita) from the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Osaka University, where he studied new reactivities of transition metal catalysts and synthetic chemistry using hypervalent iodine reagents. After finishing PhD work, he subsequently became Assistant Professor at Osaka University, and was promoted to Associate Professor (PI) in 2014 at Ritsumeikan University. His current research interest is focused on reagent/catalyst design and asymmetric oxidation in hypervalent iodine chemistry. T.D. received the IUPAC-ICOS 15 Poster Award for most excellent presentation, the PSJ Award for Young Scientists (2009), Banyu Chemist Award (2013), Thieme Chemistry Journal Award (2014), and GSC Encouragement Award (2015) on his researches.
