Dr Egle Beccalli obtained her degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 1979 from the University of Milan. In 1983, she became a Researcher, in 1998, she was appointed as an Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry and in 2003, and she became a Full-Professor of Organic Chemistry. In the period 2007-2012, she held the office of Head of the Department of Molecular Sciences Applied to Bio-systems (DISMAB) at the University of Milan. Prof. Beccalli is author of about 120 publications published in international journals, 3 book chapters and several communications to national and international congresses. She is member of the Italian Chemical Society, member of the board of PhD of Pharmaceutical Sciences, an evaluator for Danish Agency for Science Technology and Innovation (2011) and referees for several international journals. Prof. Cristiano Bolchi obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Milan in
2003. After Postdoctoral research, he began his academic career at Milan University, where he rose
from the research fellow rank to Associate Professor in 2019 at the Department of Pharmaceutical
Sciences. He has been visiting professor at University of Tirana. Since 2015, he has actively
collaborated with the pharmaceutical company Cambrex in the development of new synthetic
strategies applied to the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). His major research
interests are focused on medicinal chemistry and, more recently, on chemical biology, covering the
design, synthesis and optimization of new agents targeting neuronal cholinergic system and the
development of chemical biology tools to better understand the intracellular trafficking of the
nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. He is also interested in the new synthesis protocols inspired to
green chemistry principles.

Later he joined Prof. Shu Kobayashi*s group at the University of Tokyo (2010每2011), and worked with Prof. Carsten Bolm at RWTH as an Alexandervon Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow (2011每2012). He made visiting professorships with Prof. Aiwen Lei in Wuhan University from 2013-2014, and with Prof. Paul Knochel at Ludwig-Maximilians-University from 2017-2018. His research interests deal mainly with the transition metal catalyzed C每X(X = S, O, N, C) bond-formation reactions and organic reactions in water.

Tarek Abou Elmaaty received his PhD degree in organic Chemistry from University of
Mansoura. He did his first postdoctoral in Keel Univ., UK in 1999-2001 where he
joined the Keel environmental science group.
In 2004, He won TWAS-UNISCO research grant and joined the group of Prof. S.
Sankraraman,, IIT, Chennai, India where he worked on the Synthesis of
Macrocyclic molecules. In 2005, he became a Fulbright fellow and joined the
group of Prof. Castle, ISU, USA for his second post-doctoral studies where he
began his research on pheromones. He was the recipient of the Matsumae Fellowship
and joined Prof. Okubayashi’s group in KIT, Japan and specialized in dyeing and
finishing of fabrics under supercritical carbon dioxide. He received a number of young
faculty awards including the best researcher Award, Publication Award and recently
he won the gold medal in Cairo innovates 5 in 2018. His current research focuses on
applications of nanoparticles in textile dyeing and finishing as well as the synthesis of
new dyes for supercritical carbon dioxide applications. He served as a reviewer for
many international journals as well as a member in the scientific committee of many
international conferences and is now the vice president of Damietta University, Egypt
since 2015. Also, he is a member in the scientific committee of the promotion of
professors in Applied Arts sector since 2016. Recently, he established and co-
managed the CO-Build Chine-Egypt SCF dyeing international lab. in cooperation with
Prof. Zheng from Dalian polytechnic University, China.

Professor Cigdem Sayil received her MSc and Ph.D. degrees in organic chemistry from the University of Istanbul in 1994 and 1999 respectively. She has worked as a researcher at Marmara Research Center (MAM) /TUBITAK until 2001. Professor Cigdem Sayil joined the research group of Professor Ibis in 2003 at the University of Istanbul as an Assistant Professor and in 2010 as an Associate Professor and started her own research group. In 2015 she became a full professor at the same university. In 2004 and 2008 she became a member of Turkish Crystallography Association and Turkish Chemistry Association.
