Biography of A.M. Al-Shammari
Ahmed Majeed Al-Shammari is currently an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Research Scientist at the Experimental Therapy Department, Iraqi centre for cancer and medical genetic research, Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad, Iraq. He received a PhD in Veterinary Pathology from College of Veterinary Medicine/Baghdad University, Baghdad in 2009. He has three main research lines and programs: a) Cancer virotherapy, which is about using oncolytic viruses to treat cancer as Newcastle disease virus and Measles, b) Creating tumour models as new Iraqi cancer cell lines from Iraqi patients to study the uniqueness of the tumours in Iraq and to use them in the experimental therapies to develop new treatments, and c) Stem cell and tissue engineering. He has published more than 50 articles in well-reputed international journals.

Prof. Mariadhas Valan Arasu is Assistant Professor in Microbiology at the King Saud University (Saudi Arabia), Department of Botany and Microbiology. He is mainly working in the field of natural products from marine microbes, plant natural products and applications of nanomaterials for various biological usages. In particular, the research activity of Mariadhas Valan Arasu involves the isolation, characterization of marine active microbes for novel biomolecules and ecofriendly synthesis of various nanomaterials for biomedical applications, with particular focus on the treatment of infectious diseases, cancer and disease associated with clinically important drug resistant pathogens. He is the author of over 200 scientific publications. He is one of the authors of the US patent “Process for production of yellow pigment from bacteria” (9493792). His lab is focusing on the identification of hotspring rare microbes for the production of large scale biologically active target molecules with widespread application in the treatment of infectious diseases.

The main research interest of Ki Moon Seong concern the physiological mechanism of radiation

particular relevance to radiotoxicology. He has also interests in the development of new molecular
