Biography of M.V. Arasu
Prof. Mariadhas Valan Arasu is Assistant Professor in Microbiology at the King Saud University (Saudi Arabia), Department of Botany and Microbiology. He is mainly working in the field of natural products from marine microbes, plant natural products and applications of nanomaterials for various biological usages. In particular, the research activity of Mariadhas Valan Arasu involves the isolation, characterization of marine active microbes for novel biomolecules and ecofriendly synthesis of various nanomaterials for biomedical applications, with particular focus on the treatment of infectious diseases, cancer and disease associated with clinically important drug resistant pathogens. He is the author of over 200 scientific publications. He is one of the authors of the US patent “Process for production of yellow pigment from bacteria” (9493792). His lab is focusing on the identification of hotspring rare microbes for the production of large scale biologically active target molecules with widespread application in the treatment of infectious diseases.

Dr. Mohammad Yaghoub Abdollahzadeh Jamalabadi received his B.Sc. in fluid mechanical engineering from Iran University of Science and technology in 2006.He has completed his Masters Degree in energy conversion from Sharif University of Technology in 2008, and he has been awarded a degree of Ph.D. in Mechanics from Khajeh Nasir Toosi University in 2012. His research interests include fluid flow simulation, CFD, FSI, MHD, heat transfer, thermal radiation, and SOFC simulations. He was a senior research scientist at Gyeongsang National University in 2014. He has been serving as an Assistant professor in Chabahar Maritime University since 2012.

Dr. Kouokam is a husband and father of five. He earned a Ph.D. in 2002 at Saarland University (Germany), with a focus on Analytical Phytochemistry and Pharmacognosy. Then, he moved to Sweden for a postdoc in molecular pathogenesis of UPEC (uropathogenic E. coli) and then to the USA for successive postdoc positions in Microbiology and Immunology (2006) and in Pharmacology and Toxicology (2008) at the University of Louisville. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Louisville. His research interests include the development of vaccines, as well as anticancer and anti-HIV drugs, based on plant production systems.

Dr. Seong (Republic of Korea) obtained a BSc in Biology 2000 and a PhD of biochemistry in 2007
from Korea University. He started his career as a post-doctor research associate investigating the
biological effects of radiation exposure at low doses in the Radiation Health Research Institute of
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. Ltd. He has worked in National Radiation Emergency Medical
Center (NREMC) in Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences (KIRAMS) as Senior
researcher since 2016, as Chief of Low Dose Risk Assessment Team since 2018 and Chief of
Biological Dosimetry Team since 2020. He has been a delegation of Korea in United Nations
Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) since 2016 and is currently
member of ad hoc working group for Effects & Mechanism of Radiation.
The main research interest of Ki Moon Seong concern the physiological mechanism of radiation
exposure at low level, especially less than 100 mSv. He has investigated the radiation exposure-
induced diseases animal models such as mice and fruit flies as well as cells and tissues with
particular relevance to radiotoxicology. He has also interests in the development of new molecular
indicators explaining radiation exposed level used for biological dosimetry. He published more than 50
research articles and book-chapters in the fields of radiation biology.
Dr. Pankaj Taneja is eminent teacher and scientist. He has 20 years of experience at national and international levels in biotechnology. His area of research is in signal transduction pathways in cancer prevention. He was also awarded with prestigious presidential Ramalingaswamy fellowship.
