Prof. MING GAO completed his PhD at Shandong University, P. R. China, and joined
this university in 2008. Now he is the director of Energy and Power Engineering
Department. Prof. GAO’s research interests are three-dimensional fluid flow, heat and mass
transfer, especially energy-saving research of thermal/nuclear/renewable energy power
plants. He is recognized worldwide for his work on heat exchangers and cooling towers.
From 2014 to 2015, he visited the University of Manchester, UK, and cooperated with Prof.
Ali. Turan to research the radiation noise of turbomachinery and complex piping system.
Qingsong Xu Department of Electromechanical Engineering University of Macau Macau (China)
Qingsong Xu is a Full Professor with the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Faculty of
Science and Technology, University of Macau, where he directs the Smart and Micro/Nano Systems
Laboratory. His current research area involves mechatronics, robotics and mechanisms, control and
automation, smart and micro/nano systems, precision manipulation robots and applications, etc. He has
published 3 monographs in Springer and Wiley and over 280 technical papers in international journals
and conferences. His publications have been cited by over 7000 times in Google Scholar with h-index of 48. Prof. Xu is the recipient of several Best Paper Awards from IEEE international conferences. He has
received multiple times of Macao Science and Technology Awards from Macao SAR, China.
