Dr. Juan Gambini completed his bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Valencia in 2001 and obtained a predoctoral fellowship. He has made three stays in in foreign research centers 2 in Dallas (USA), in the SMU University, and another one in Dusseldorf (Germany) in Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. He has been awarded a degree of PhD from the University of Valencia in 2007. He has participated in 30 research projects, having H-index 25 more than 2000 citations. He is currently working in the field of nutrition and longevity.

He was selected as the Outstanding Youth Research Talent Cultivation Program in
Colleges and Universities in Fujian Province. He was a member of the standing
committee Reproductive Health of Chinese Rehabilitation Medical Association,
member of Fujian Medical Genetics Society, member of the standing Committee of
Cancer Sequencing and Large Data Collaboration Group of China Anti-Cancer
Association. Research Direction: enzymes and pain. As project leader, he is
responsible for the youth and general program of the National Natural Science
Foundation of China (No.81201362, No.81571613, and No.81871293) and
participation in two National Major Basic Research "863" Programs. A series of
innovative results were obtained in the fields of autoimmune diseases, pancreatitis,
and pancreatic cancer. More than 20 papers were published as the first author or
correspondent author index by SCI and the impact factor was over 100, including
"Cell Death & Disease", "EBioMedicine", "Int J Nanomedicine", "Biosensors &
Bioelectronics" and other academic journals. The first prize winner received the 2009,
2014 Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Award. For his outstanding
contribution, he was awarded the May4th Youth medal in Fuzhou.

Biography of Emilio Jirillo
Emilio Jirillo is full professor of Immunology at University of Bari Medical School (Bari, Italy) since 1986.His current fields of interest are: mucosal immunity, microbial immunity and immunonutrition. Especially in this last field, he has recently published in vitro and in vivo studies on the anti-inflammatory effects of polyphenols. He is author of more than 560 papers (326 scientific papers are listed in PUBMED), even including books and chapters of books. He is also editor-in-chief- of another Bentham journal: Clinical Immunology Endocrine Metabolic Drugs.
