S. Ghahari Purdue University West Lafayette, IN (USA)
Dr. Ali Ghahari is a researcher at Purdue University, pursuing a Degree in Civil Engineering with an
emphasis in Transportation Asset Management. He is performing corruption assessment in
infrastructure projects and performing asset management studies on infrastructure systems. Ali has
more than 30 publications on different aspects of civil engineering. He is currently working as a graduate
teaching assistant in the EPICS Program (Engineering Projects in Community Service), guiding
undergraduate students to accomplish hands-on projects that help the improvement of communities.

the Relative Performance of Highway Bridge Decks across Multiple States, Estimation of Annual Bridge

Considering Budget Constraints.

Dr. Rafiee has received his PhD in 2010 in Mechanical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology with a specialization on Nanocomposites. He has completed his MSc and BSc studies both in the general field of composite materials and structures. He began his industrial experience in different sectors including wind turbines, composite pipes, strategic planning and technology transfer projects since 2000. He joined the University of Tehran in 2011 as Assistant Professor in the Faculty of New Science and Technologies, where he founded the Composites Research Laboratory (COMRESLAB). He has been promoted to the level of Associate Professor in 2015 with unanimous approval of all evaluating committee members.

In 2005, he joined Xiamen University as an Associate Professor, after that he worked at Bonn University as an Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Fellow in 2007, then moved to La Trobe University in 2008 and City University of Hong Kong in 2011 as a Senior Research Fellow. His research interests include surface engineering, nanomaterials, thin films, and energy storage/conversion materials. He has published over 110 journal articles.

A&T State University, Greensboro, NC. Dr. Gupta’s research focuses on green energy
production and storage using conducting polymers and composites, electrocatalysts, fuel
cells, supercapacitors, batteries, nanomaterials, optoelectronics and photovoltaics
devices, organic-inorganic hetero-junctions for sensors, nanomagnetism, bio-based
polymers, bio-compatible nanofibers for tissue regeneration, scaffold and antibacterial
applications, bio-degradable metallic implants. Dr. Gupta published over 200 peer-
reviewed articles, made over 275 national/international/ regional presentations, chaired
many sessions at national/international meetings, wrote several book chapters, and
