Meet the Executive Guest Editor(s)

M.A. Kayani
COMSATS University
Islamabad
(Pakistan)
D. Kayani MA received his PhD from University of Wales Swansea (United Kingdom). He is Professor & Head at Department of Biosciences COMSATS University Islamabad (Pakistan). He has also served as Chairman of the same department during 2015 to 2018. Dr Kayani has interests in population genetics and cancer genetics. He is involved in teaching and research on cancer genetics, at both under-graduate and graduate level, since 2002. Focus of his research is understanding the pathogenesis of different cancers prevalent in Pakistani population. Different cancers are highly prevalent in Pakistan and the age at diagnosis is decreasing with the passage of time. This is not only increasing the disease burden in the population but also making the young population vulnerable to cancer and its debilitating effects. Elucidation of importance of cancer genetics will not only help in understanding the pathogenesis of this deadly disease but also eventually in discovering suitable biomarkers and resultantly improved treatment modalities.
