Dr Emerson Andre Casali graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1997) and received his Doctorate in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2002). He was a Research Professor at the Centro Universitário Metodista IPA where he taught subjects related to Morphological Sciences, Biochemistry and Biophysics. He is a collaborating researcher in the Department of Biochemistry at UFRGS. He conducts his scientific research in the areas of Morphological Sciences (cell culture and cytohistological techniques), Biochemistry (purinergic system, enzymology, oxidative stress and metabolism), Biophysics (radiation and electrostimulation) with emphasis on hormonal, vitamin, metabolic and physiotherapy resources in pathological and physiological conditions of different tissues, and is currently also dedicated to environmental monitoring. Currently, he is a Prof. Deputy IV of the Department of Morphological Sciences and is the Advisor of the Department of Biochemistry at ICBS, UFRGS.

Satya P. Gupta is presently a Professor Emeritus at Meerut Institute of Engineering and
Technology (MIET), Meerut, India. He earlier served various prestigious Educational
Institutes like Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai; Birla Institute of
Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani; MIET, Meerut; and National Institute of
Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal. For the excellence of his
research work in Drug Design, he has bagged several honors and awards. In addition to
his excellent publications, Gupta also has acted Editor-in-Chief of a few journals of
Bentham Science and authored/edited many books for various reputed publishers such as
Springer-Verlag, Berlin Heidelberg Germany; CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group,
USA; Nova Science Publishers, USA; and Elsevier (Academic Press), USA. His
scientific activity has brought him on the forefront of scientific community of the world.
Claudio Santi Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences University of Perugia Perugia (Italy)
Claudio Santi received the PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Perugia under the supervision of Prof. Marcello Tiecco. Currently he is professor of Organic Chemistry and teaches the courses of Spectroscopy for Organic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry of Natural Compounds. He leads the group of Catalysis and Organic Green Chemistry in the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and is worldwide recognized expert n organoselenium chemistry. His research interest range from the application of selenium reagents in green chemistry to the development of new orgaselenium containing drugs. He is author of more than 130 publications including review articles and book chapters.
