Atta-ur-Rahman, FRS (Biography

Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman, Ph.D. in organic chemistry (Cambridge University 1968), has 1056 international publications including 210. He won the UNESCO Science Prize and was elected Fellow of Royal Society (London). He was conferred honorary doctorate degrees by many universities including Cambridge University. He was elected Honorary Life Fellow of Kings College, Cambridge University, and the Austrian government honoured him with its high civil award (“Grosse Goldene Ehrenzeischen am Bande") (2007) .He is Foreign Fellow (“Academician”) of Chinese and Korean Academies of Sciences. The University of Technology Mara, Malaysia UiTM, has established “Atta-ur-Rahman Institute of Natural Product Discovery” in his honour. Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman was the Federal Minister of Science and Technology of Pakistan. He is Chairman UN Committee on Science Technology and Innovation for UNESCAP region covering 62 countries.

M. Iqbal Choudhary (Biography
M. Iqbal Choudhary

Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary is a Distinguished National Professor of Organic Chemistry and Director at International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (H. E. J. Research Institute of Chemistry and Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research). He is among the most prominent scientists of Pakistan, recognized for his original contributions in the fields of natural products and bioorganic chemistry. He has written and edited 50 books, most of which have been published in USA and Europe. He is also the author of over 900 research papers and chapters in top international science journals of the West, as well as 43 US patents. The cumulative impact factor of his publications is over 1,750. This is by far the largest number of quality publications from any scientist in Pakistan. He has been among the most cited scientists of Pakistan in last five years with citations exceeding 11,000 (h-Index: 41).

George Perry (Biography
George Perry

George Perry (born April 12, 1953 in Lompoc, California) is a neuroscientist recognized in the field of Alzheimer's disease research particularly for his work in oxidative stress. Dr. Perry has studied at many universities and holds multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of California Santa Barbara and a PhD in Marine Biology from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at San Diego. He is distinguished as one of the top Alzheimer’s disease researchers by Expertscape with over 1000 publications, more than 66,000 citations (H=129), one of the top 100 most-cited scientists in Neuroscience & Behavior and one of the top 25 scientists in free radical research. Dr. Perry is a Semmes Foundation Distinguished University Chair in Neurobiology and is an active participant in many other scientific associations. He is an elected member of the Academies of Sciences of Mexico, Portugal, and Spain. In addition, Perry is an Editor of numerous scientific journals including Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease which he founded in 1998. Today, Perry continues his love for research while working as Dean of the College of Sciences at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Daniela Barlocco earned her degree in Pharmacy (1969) and in Chemistry (1977) from the University of Pavia (Italy). She became Researcher at the University of Milan, faculty of Pharmacy, in 1980 and associate professor at the University of Modena in 1992. She got the title of full professor at the University of Milan in 2000. Her main research interests are addressed to the design of small molecules as enzyme inhibitors and to the comprehension of the protein-protein interactions. S.M. Husbands

Professor Husbands joined the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology at the University of Bath in 2000, was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2010 and then Professor in 2012. He has been Head of the Medicinal Chemistry group within the Department since 2013. Prof Husbands’ main research interests relate to neuropsychological diseases, in particular drug abuse, but also including depression and anxiety. Recent research interests have focussed on the development and therapeutic potential of ‘selectively promiscuous’ ligands and has been driven by the understanding that CNS disorders are rarely simple, requiring complex solutions. Prof Husbands has published >100 peer-reviewed scientific papers, mostly on CNS active molecules.

Nikos Tagmatarchis is Deputy Director in the Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute, at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, in Athens, Greece. He has studied chemistry and received his PhD from the Chemistry Department, University of Crete, Greece (1997). Dr. Tagmatarchis accomplishments are reflected in over 180 scientific peer-reviewed research articles, while his work has been cited more than 8200 times associated with an h-index of 37. Dr. Hui Xu was born in Zhejiang Province, China. Currently, he is a professor at Research Institute of Pesticidal Design & Synthesis, Northwest A&F University.
