Arduino A. Mangoni

Professor Arduino A Mangoni trained in Cardiology, Clinical Pharmacology and General Medicine in Milan, Boston and London. He was awarded a PhD in Pharmacology at King’s College, University of London, in 2003. He was appointed Senior Lecturer (2003-2007) and Associate Professor (2007-2009) in Clinical Pharmacology at Flinders University before taking up the Chair in Medicine of Old Age at the University of Aberdeen, UK (2010-2012). In 2013 he was appointed Strategic Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Head of Department at Flinders University. In 2015, he became Associate Dean and Head, Flinders Medical Science and Technology. He plays a key role in the regular review of the Australian Hypertension guidelines and has contributed to the development of the SIGN guidelines on the Management of Chronic Pain, released in December 2013. His research interest include metabolomics and ageing, drug discovery and geriatric clinical pharmacology. Professor Mangoni has published over 140 refereed publications. Arduino Mangoni is a clinical academic, Professor and Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Associate Dean and Head, Flinders Medical Science and Technology, in the School of Medicine at Flinders University in Adelaide.

Jorge Duconge (Biography
Jorge Duconge

Dr. Duconge is a full professor of pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenomics in the University of Puerto Rico School of Pharmacy. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, MSc and BSc Pharm from the University of Havana. He led the Pharmacokinetics Lab, Center for Biological Evaluation and Research, Havana. He has 18+ years of experience in scholarly activities and research projects on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of biotech-derived drug products, and more recently, working on the pharmacogenomics of cardiovascular drugs. His research has been supported by multiple NIH grants. He is the Key Activity Leader of the RCMI Center for Genomics in Health Disparities and Rare Diseases. Dr. Duconge has authored more than 75 research articles, reviews and book chapters.

Claudiu T. Supuran is professor of medicinal chemistry at the Neurofarba Department, Section of Pharmaceutical and Nutriceutical Sciences, University of Florence, Italy. He has published more than 1250 papers, his Hirsch factor is h=110; the number of citations since 1995 > 49800. His main research interest is on enzyme inhibitors, especially carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, of which he discovered several new classes in the last years. One of the sulfonamides discovered in his group entered Phase I clinical trials in 2014 for the treatment of advanced, metastatic solid tumors. He is Editor-in-Chief of Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Patents, Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, Current Enzyme Inhibition, etc. For the last 25 years the main interest of his research was focused on metallo-enzymes and their modulators of activity. In 2013 he was rated as the most cited scientists in Pharmacology & Toxicology by LabTimes (LabTimes 2013, 5, 38).

Nese Tuncel

Dr. Neşe Tunçel received her BS in Pharmacy in 1970 and her PhD in Medical Physiology in 1982 from Ankara University, Turkey. She has been served as a Professor in the Department of Physiology and Neurophysiology, Faculty of Medicine, Eskişehir Osmangazi University, and she was retired in April 2016. She has 95 scientific publications. She also serves as a member of the Editorial boards of several academic journals including Current Pharmaceutical Design, Medicinal Chemistry, Recent Patents on Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery, The Open Cancer Journal, Biomedical Review and Adipobiology, Current Clinical pharmacology. Karel Allegaert (MD, PhD) is a pediatrician-neonatologist, with an additional expertise in clinical pharmacology. He is professor at the KU Leuven (department of development and regeneration) and is clinical consultant at the Sophia’s Children’s Hospital, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. His research is focused on developmental perinatal pharmacology, has been supported by European funding (Albino study), and national grants (FWO, IWT-SBO) and has resulted in about 280 PubMed citations. He is member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium, president of the European Society of Developmental Pharmacology and section head clinical pharmacology of the European Society of Pediatric Research.

Romuald Bellmann, MD, is internist, medical intensivist, clinical pharmacologist and infectious diseases specialist. He is a senior physician at the Division of Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine and chief of the Clinical Pharmacokinetics Unit at the Department of Internal Medicine I of the Medical University of Innsbruck and associate professor of Internal Medicine. M. Bourin

Professor Michel Bourin has held the position of Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Nantes (1985 to 2011). After completing his pharmacist and medical training at Tours University, he was awarded degrees in neuropsychopharmacology, clinical pharmacology and general pharmacology in Paris, and he then completed his psychiatric training in Nantes. Since 1988, Professor Bourin has been the Head of Research: Neurobiology of Anxiety and Depression. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Edmonton and visiting Professor at the University of Craiova. He is now working as a Psychiatrist in a Centre for mentally handicapped adults in Montredon. He is Doctor Honoris Causa of the Universities of Craiova and Tartu.

Dr. Jasper Dingemanse is currently Vice President and Head Clinical Pharmacology at Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Switzerland. In this function he is responsible for the Phase I and early Phase II trials of a range of compounds covering a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas (cardiovasculars, central nervous system, infectiology, immunology, respiratory). Previous positions included functions as Senior Director at The Medicines Company and Group Leader in Clinical Pharmacology at F. Hoffmann-La Roche. In addition, Dr. Dingemanse gained experience as Scientific Director at two CROs. He is the author of approximately 250 peer-reviewed articles covering preclinical and clinical pharmacology studies in various fields.

Esmaiel Jabbari

Esmaiel Jabbari is Full Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering and Director of Biomaterials, Protein Delivery, and Tissue Engineering at University of South Carolina. Dirk Kuypers

Dirk Kuypers is Professor of Medicine and Chair of the Laboratory of Nephrology, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, at the University of Leuven, Belgium. He is Head of the Department of Nephrology and Director of the Renal Transplantation Program at the University Hospitals Leuven. Hossein Hassanian-Moghaddam, MD, FACMT, has been a clinical toxicologist for almost 20 years, in a University affiliated hospital in Tehran. Loghman-Hakim Hospital Poison Center is the main referral hospital for poisoned patients in Tehran and is managed by Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Between 24000 and 27000 intoxicated patients refer to this center annually, of whom approximately 10000–12000 are hospitalized. Loghman hospital supposed to be the biggest in-patient clinical toxicology center of the world. His educational background in forensic medicine and working in this unique hospital has given him a broad base from which to approach many social dilemmas. Substance abuse and poisoning are his every-day practice, which are reflected in more than 200 published English abstract and article in scientific journals and international congresses.

Dr. Mi-Kyoung Kwak is professor of College of Pharmacy of The Catholic University of Korea.
