designed and synthesized a series of trisubstituted imidazoles, thiazoles, and pyrazoles as a potent
and selective TGF- β type I receptor kinase inhibitors. The results of these studies were reported
in internationally reputed journals. I have also completed several R&D projects containing amino
acids, azo-derivatives, and OLED materials. One of our compound EW-7197 (TEW-7197) has
been approved from the US FDA for phase II clinical trials with emphasis on subjects with
melanoma, breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and prostate cancer (NCT02160106).

Association. Research Direction: enzymes and pain. As project leader, he is
responsible for the youth and general program of the National Natural Science
Foundation of China (No.81201362, No.81571613, and No.81871293) and
participation in two National Major Basic Research "863" Programs. A series of
innovative results were obtained in the fields of autoimmune diseases, pancreatitis,
and pancreatic cancer. More than 20 papers were published as the first author or
correspondent author index by SCI and the impact factor was over 100, including
"Cell Death & Disease", "EBioMedicine", "Int J Nanomedicine", "Biosensors &
Bioelectronics" and other academic journals. The first prize winner received the 2009,
2014 Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Award. For his outstanding
contribution, he was awarded the May4th Youth medal in Fuzhou.
Dr. Huan Li received his Ph.D. in 2007 from the School of Environment, Tsinghua University. He is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University, China. He is also a Visiting scholar at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. He has published more than 30 journal papers in well-reputed journals and has discovered 8 patents.
Dr. Chen obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology from the Kagoshima University, Japan. He also holds an MD degree from Guangdong Medical and Pharmaceutical College and a Master's degree in Toxicology from Sun Yat-Sen Medical University, China. Currently, Dr. Chen is a Professor at St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He is also a director of the Institute for Biotechnology at St. John’s University. He has published more than 180 scientific publications. Besides, he is the founding Editor in Chief of the Journal of Cancer Research Updates, an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of New Developments in Chemistry and an editor of the African Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology. He is also an editorial board member of 26 journals and a reviewer of more than 170 peer-reviewed journals.
