Paula B. Alfred Hagemeyer

Dr. Alfred Hagemeyer joined Rennovia in 2011 to apply high throughput methodologies to the discovery of catalysts for the production of chemicals from bio-renewable feedstocks. Before joining Rennovia, Alfred was Group Leader at the Catalysis Lab of Sud-Chemie (now Clariant) in Munich developing catalysts for the gas-phase oxidation of commodity chemicals. Prior to joining Sud-Chemie in 2006, he was Distinguished Scientist at Symyx Technologies, conducting high-throughput catalysis research across a wide range of application areas, including selective oxidations and hydrogenations, emissions control and fuel reforming. Before moving to Symyx in 1998, Alfred was a Senior Scientist with Hoechst, Frankfurt, and Project Leader with BASF, Ludwigshafen, after Post-Doctoral Research at The University of Bologna, Italy. Alfred has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Max-Planck-Institute of Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany, a M.Sc. in Physics and a M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Dortmund, Germany, and authored more than 100 issued patents and scientific articles, ranging from novel catalysts and materials to high-throughput screening technology.

Edward G. Hyde

Dr. Edward Hyde received his PhD under the direction of Dr. Wayne Carmichael investigating the mechanism of action of blue-green alga biotoxins. After postdoctoral work on sodium channel blockers, nicotinic receptor antagonists and serotonin receptor function; Dr. Hyde was recruited to the Queensland Pharmaceutical Research Institute (now the Eskitis Institute for Drug Discovery). He was a group leader in natural products HTS in collaboration with Astra Pharmaceuticals and then AstraZeneca. In 2001, Dr. Hyde was recruited to The Rockefeller University to establish an HTS resource center bringing industrial robots to academic scientists. In 2004, Dr. Hyde moved to the Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research at the University of Pennsylvania to establish an HTS research laboratory devoted to neurodegenerative disease. Yulia Ovechkina

Dr. Yulia Ovechkina is the High Throughput Screening Director for the Tuberculosis Discovery Research Group at IDRI. Her work is focused on developing high throughput (HTS) and high content (HCS) screening assays. Previously, she established an innovative HCS platform, OncoPanel, to profile therapeutic cancer agents across 240 human tumor cell lines at Ricerca Biosciences. Dr. Krister Wennerberg is a FIMM-EMBL Group Leader at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), University of Helsinki, Finland. His research aims at generating better biological understanding of individual cancers and to translate this information to precision cancer treatments. Jun Huan

Dr. Jun (Luke) Huan is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Kansas. He directs the Data Science and Computational Life Sciences Laboratory at KU Information and Telecommunication Technology Center (ITTC). Andrey A. Toropov (PhD) has been working in Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Milano, Italy with Dr. Benfenati’s research group. The optimal (flexible) descriptors are his main scientific interest. He is developer of recent version of the optimal descriptors named as collectors of eclectic data for a QSPR/QSAR predictions. This paradigm is especially appropriate for the cases of complex molecular systems such as nanomaterials and proteins. Alexandre Varnek got his PhD in physical chemistry from the Institute of Inorganic and General Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. In 1995, Alexandre joined the University of Strasbourg, France, where he holds the position of a Professor in theoretical chemistry, head of the Laboratory of Chemoinformatics and the director of two MSc programs: master in chemoinformatics and master “In Silico Drug Design”. Alexandre is (co)author of 1 monograph, 4 textbooks and more than 170 research articles and book chapters in the field of molecular modeling.

Sivanesan Dakshanamurthy

Dr. Sivanesan Dakshanamurthy is an Associate Professor, and the Director, Computational Chemistry Shared Resources at Georgetown University Medical Center. He received a fellowship in engineering at the Patrice Lumumba Peoples Friendship University in Moscow, Russia. Siva achieved a Master’s degree in physics, and doctoral degree in the interdisciplinary areas of biochemistry/physics from Central Leather Research Institute/University of Madras. He graduated with Executive MBA at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. He made significant contributions to the fields of molecular recognition, and drug discovery. He has published over 80 peer reviewed journal articles and an inventor of over 12 patents.

Huixiao Hong (Biography
Huixiao Hong

Dr. Huixiao Hong is a senior Scientist at National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Arkansas, USA, working on the scientific bases for regulatory application and development of genomics biomarkers. Before joining the FDA, he was the Manager of Bioinformatics Division at Z-Tech, an ICFI company, at NCTR. He held a Research Scientist position at Sumitomo Chemical Company in Japan. He was a visiting scientist at National Cancer Institute (NCI) at National Institutes of Health (NIH). He was also an Associated Professor and the Director of Laboratory of Computational Chemistry at Nanjing University in China. He published more than 160 scientific papers and served as Editor-in-Chief, Executive Editor and Editorial Board member for more than 10 peer-reviewed journals and as reviewer for more than 50 peer-reviewed journals. He received his Ph.D. from Nanjing University in China and did post-doctoral research at Maxwell Institute in Leeds University in England.

Dr Nitin Mantri is a Senior Lecturer in Biotechnology at RMIT University. He has attracted over $3.5 million dollars in research funding. His research involves a) using contemporary molecular tools like Next-Generation Sequencing for identifying genes and alleles responsible for abiotic stress tolerance, b) developing DNA markers for flavour-related compounds in strawberries using microarrays, and c) production and testing of novel bioactive honeys and honey-based cosmetic formulations with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. In the last 10 years, he has published over 45 research articles, mostly in high-impact journals.
