M. Bhatia

Prof. Madhav Bhatia heads the Inflammation Research Group in the Department of Pathology at the University of Otago, Christchurch. The group has an active research programme on the molecular pharmacology and molecular pathology of various inflammatory conditions such as acute pancreatitis, polymicrobial sepsis and burns, with the long-term goal of developing clinically effective therapeutic approaches. He has received numerous grants, has authored more than 160 contributions to the peer-reviewed literature, given several invited presentations in different countries and is on Editorial Boards of 34 journals. His publications have been cited more than 8000 times, and he has an "h"-index of 47. Prof. Bhatia has delivered invited talks at several international conferences worldwide. Prof. Bhatia has mentored several postgraduate students are research staff, who are now independent investigators in their own right, leading research groups in different parts of the world."

N. Rezaei (Biography
N. Rezaei

Nima Rezaei gained his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2002 and subsequently obtained an MSc in Molecular and Genetic Medicine and a PhD in Clinical Immunology and Human Genetics from the University of Sheffield, UK. He also spent a short-term fellowship of Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Bone Marrow Transplantation in the Newcastle General Hospital. Since 2010, Dr. Rezaei has worked at the Department of Immunology and Biology, School of Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences; he is now the Vice Dean of International Affairs, School of Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the Director of Global Academic Program, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and the co-founder and Deputy President of the Research Center for Immunodeficiencies. In addition, Dr. Rezaei is an Honorary Associate Staff at the Department of Infection and Immunity, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Sheffield. He is also the founder and president of Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN). Dr. Rezaei has already been the Director of more than 50 research projects and has designed and participated in several international collaborative projects. Dr. Rezaei is an editorial assistant or board member for more than 20 international journals. He has edited more than 10 books, has presented more than 350 lectures/posters in congresses/meetings, and has published more than 530 articles in the international scientific journals during last decade.

Dr. Yee obtained a medical doctorate (M.D.) and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology from Cornell University. Currently, Dr. Yee is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in Hematology and Oncology in the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He is also a medical oncologist in the PennState Cancer Institute, and an attending and consultant physician in the PennState Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He has published extensively in ?basic, translational, and clinical sciences, including original research articles, review articles, book chapters, and clinical case reports. R. Hashmey

Dr. Rayhan Hashmey is the Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Consultant Infectious Diseases at Tawam Hospital. He holds Associate Professorship in Internal Medicine at the UAE University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. A graduate of Dow University of Health Sciences, Pakistan (1989), he completed his post-graduate medical training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases from the American Board of Medical Specialties. His areas of interest are infection control, HIV infection, antimicrobial stewardship and public policy matters regarding antimicrobial resistance and stewardship. An investigator in many clinical trials, he has more than 50 publications and abstracts to his credit. He is actively working with Health Authority of Abu Dhabi to implement greater antimicrobial oversight in the Emirate.

Dr Misik has over 30 years of experience in biomedical research and development, including more than 15 years as a scientist at the National Cancer Institute, NIH in Bethesda, George Washington University Medical School, Washington DC, and Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava. Dr Misik is currently Vice President at Quintiles, a leading contract research organization, where over his 17 years tenure served in a variety roles including area head of business development, head of clinical operations in Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and North Africa, and most recently as head of Quintiles centralized operations centers in India. Dr. Misik obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Biophysics from the Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia. Dr. Misik also holds a Masters degree in physics from the same university. He has published more than 60 research articles and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals: over the years his research focus has shifted from development of novel modalities of cancer treatment, and cardio-protective agents, to globalization of biopharmaceutical clinical trials.

Jozef Hertecant obtained his medical degree from Ghent State University Belgium. He then trained in Pediatrics at the Ghent University Hospital, followed by fellowships at Ste-Justine Hospital, Montreal, Canada and at Groningen State University in the Netherlands. In 1992 he joined Tawam Hospital in Al Ain United Arab Emirates and has been working there ever since. His is Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at Faculty of Medicine at the UAE University, also in Al Ain. He started the Paediatric Metabolic Diseases Division at Tawam Hospital. Thanks to the collaboration of many others, it has by now become the main centre in the UAE for paediatric metabolic diseases. He has more than 40 publications.

Dr. Randall Stoltz is an active clinical researcher who has been an investigator for the over 25 years in phase 1 – 4. Dr.Stoltz joined Covance full-time in 2005 and is the Medical Director for an 80 bed phase 1 unit in Evansville, IN. He is actively involved in the medical over sight of the unit, acts as the principal investigator for multiple studies, works with sponsors to develop protocols, and also serves as a medical monitor. Dr.Stoltz is the past chairman and current member of the ACRP certified physician investigator test committee which administers certification exams globally to research physicians that wish to become certified and a past board member of ACPU ( Association of Clinical Pharmacology Units).

Dr.Stoltz and his unit in Evansville, IN specialize in intensive studies that require close medical monitoring. C. Chen

After trained as a Medical Doctor at the Shanghai Medical School (Fudan University), Professor Chen completed PhD in Neuroendocrinology at the University of Bordeaux, France. He worked in Glaxo Inc., U.S.A. and then the Prince Henry’s Institute, Melbourne, Australia. He is leading Endocrinology and Metabolism laboratory at the University of Queensland since 2008.
