Michael E. Thase

Michael E. Thase, is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Corporal Michael Crescenz VA Medical Center. A 1979 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, he is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, a Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, the President-Elect of the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, and a member of the American College of Psychiatrists.His research focuses on the assessment and treatment of mood disorders, including studies on the differential therapeutics of both depression and bipolar affective disorder.He is the author of nearly 700 peer reviewed manuscripts and chapters, as well as 16 books.

Joël Billieux is professor of clinical psychology at the university of Luxembourg, where he is head of the Addictive and Compulsive Behaviours Lab. He is also co-director of the Laboratory for Experimental Psychopathology and the Internet and Gambling Disorders Clinic (Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium). His main area of research regards the psychological factors involved in the etiology of addictive behaviors. Since 2014, he is an expert in a World Health Organization workgroup related to the public health implications of behavioral addictions associated with the excessive use of ICTs. He serves as a board member of the International Society for the Study of Behavioural Addictions, and assumes editorial roles in several scientific journals, including International Gambling Studies, the Journal of Behavioral Addictions, Addictive Behaviors Reports, or Current Psychiatry Reviews.

C. Cloninger

C. Robert Cloninger is Wallace Renard Professor of Psychiatry, Professor of Psychology and Genetics, and Director of the Sansone Center for Well-Being at the Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. He received his M.D. from Washington University in 1970, and Honorary Doctorates from the University of Umea in 1983 (MD in Genetics) and University of Gothenburg in 2012 (PhD in Psychology).

He has published 10 books and over 500 peer-reviewed publications. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Medicine USA and American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Andrea Gogos (Biography
Andrea Gogos

Dr Gogos is a behavioural neuroscientist and Head of the Hormones in Psychiatry Laboratory at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health in Parkville, VIC, Australia. She completed her PhD in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Melbourne (VIC, Australia) in 2005. Her research focuses on the involvement of sex steroid hormones in psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia. She is particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms by which estrogen can protect against the development and severity of schizophrenia.

Dr. Siegfried Kasper is the Professor of Psychiatry and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. J. Nacher

Juan Nàcher is an Associate Professor in the Neurobiology Unit of the Universitat de València, he is also associated to the Spanish Research Network on Mental Health (CIBERSAM) and is currently with the vice-president of the Spanish Neuroscience Society (SENC). He received his Ph.D. in Neurobiology in the U.V. and developed postdoctoral work in Bruce McEwen’s lab in Rockefeller University, studying the effects of stress and NMDA receptor manipulation on adult neuronal structural plasticity. After coming back to Valencia he has continued his research on this plasticity, focusing on its alterations in psychiatric disorders and on the impact produced by aversive experiences during early life and adolescence (http://www.nacherlab.com).

Dr. Blazer is the J.P. Gibbons Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Duke. He received his MD degree from the University of Tennessee and his MPH and PhD degrees from the University of North Carolina. He is the recipient of the first Annual Geriatric Psychiatry Research Award from the American College of Psychiatrists, and the Oscar Pfister Award for the integration of religion and psychiatry as well as the Walsh McDermott Award from the IOM for Lifetime Distinguished Service. Y. Chen (Biography
Y. Chen

Dr. Chen is the Director of Visual Psychophysiology Lab at McLean Hospital and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He obtained his PhD in vision science at the University of Houston and completed his postdoctoral training at the Harvard University. His primary research areas include perception and cognition in psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia), perception in neurodevelopmental disorders (autism) and vision in aging. He has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed scientific and medical journals. Dr. Chen serves as the editorial board member in a number of journals (Schizophrenia Bulletin and Current Psychiatry Review).

P. Cuijpers

Pim Cuijpers is the Professor of Clinical Psychology at the VU University Amsterdam (The Netherlands), and Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology. He is specialised in conducting randomised controlled trials and meta-analyses on prevention and psychological treatments of common mental disorders. Much of his work is aimed at the prevention of mental disorders, psychological treatments of depression and anxiety disorders, and Internet-delivered treatments. He has also published on a broad range of subjects in the field of clinical psychology, including psychoeducational treatment and early interventions, psychotic disorders, caregivers of dementia patients and bibliotherapy. Giovanni Andrea Fava is currently a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Bologna and a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the State University of New York in Buffalo. He has authored more than 500 scientific papers and performed groundbreaking research in several fields. He has introduced a novel psychotherapeutic approach for increasing psychological (well-being therapy), the sequential model for combining pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, the concept of staging in psychiatry, the Diagnostic Criteria for Psychosomatic Research, the concept of oppositional tolerance with antidepressant treatment. Since 1992, he is the editor-in-chief of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (IF=7.63) His current h index is fifty six, with more than 10,000 citations.

Prof. Pradeep Nathan is the Vice President, CNS Clinical Development and Experimental Medicine at Heptares Therapeutics, and Professor of Neuroscience at the Monash University. Gordon Parker AO is currently a Scientia Professor of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales, and was Executive Director, Black Dog Institute from 2002-2011. He was awarded a Citation Laureate, Psychiatry/Psychology, for being the most highly cited researcher in Australia. He is well recognised as a clinician specialising in diagnosing and managing mood disorders. He was the Head, at the School of Psychiatry, University of New South Wales for 20 years, and Director of Mental Health, Prince of Wales Hospital, for over a decade. K. Davis

Kenneth L. Davis, MD, is the President and CEO of the Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. He is a leader in the move away from fee-for-service medicine to population health. Dr. Davis’s research as a neurobiologist led the FDA to approve four of the first five drugs for Alzheimer’s disease. In 2002, he joined the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Orestes Forlenza (MD, PhD) is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (FMUSP). Charles B. Nemeroff is the Leonard M. Miller Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and Director of the Center on Aging at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is the former president of the American College of Psychiatrists and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
