Dr. Youqing Shen is a National Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor and Director of Center for Bionanoengineering in Zhejiang University, China. He received his B.S. and D.Sc degrees from Zhejiang University and PhD degree from McMaster University (Canada) in 2002. He was an assistant professor and then tenured associate professor of University of Wyoming, USA, and moved to Zhejiang University in 2008. His research is in polymeric bionanomaterials and nanomedicine. He is a recipient of NSFC Distinguished Young Scholar Fund, and Leading Young Scientist by MOST of China. He has published 180 scientific papers with more than six thousand citations.

Fan Zhang

Fan Zhang received his PhD in 2008 from Fudan University followed by more than 2 years postdoctoral experience (2008-2010) from the prestigious, world leading laboratories in University of California at Santa Barbara (Galen. D. Stucky’s group) before joining as an associate professor in the Chemistry Department of Fudan University in 2010. He became a full professor in Fudan University since 2013. Prof. Zhang has authored a number of book chapters, patents and more than 80 peer-reviewed research papers in international journals with the high impact factors with 4200 citations and authored 2 English books.

Dr. Yuehe Lin is a professor in School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Washington State University (WSU). He also holds a joint appointment at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), conducts research in nanotechnology, particularly development of small-scale devices, materials and analytical systems for biomedical diagnosis, drug delivery and energy and environmental applications. He has ~400 publications with a total citation about 33,000 and h-index 95. He was listed in Thomson Reuters’s highly-cited researchers in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Dr. Lin has over 10 patents. Half of the patents have been licensed to industrial partners for commercialization. He is a fellow of AAAS, Royal Society of Chemistry, and American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.

Dr. Jia-You Fang is a Professor in the Graduate Institute of Natural Products at Chang Gung University in Taiwan. W. Fritzsche

Dr. Fritzsche obtained his PhD from the Georg-August-University in Goettingen, Germany, for working on AFM of chromatin at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry. After a postdoc at Iowa State University he started at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (IPHT) Jena, Germany, where he is now heading the Department of Nanobiophotonics. He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed paper, edited/co-authored several books and two monographs. Yue Li, a full professor in Institute of Solid State Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics at Institute of Solid State Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005. P. Midgley

Paul Midgley is Professor of Materials Science and Director of the Electron Microscopy Facility. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Professorial Fellow at Peterhouse.

Before moving to Cambridge in 1997, he held two Research Fellowships in the H.H. Wills Physics Laboratory at the University of Bristol, the first funded by The Royal Commission for The Exhibition of 1851 and the second by The Royal Society. He has studied a wide variety of materials by electron microscopy and developed a number of novel electron microscopy techniques. His recent research has concentrated on electron tomography, electron holography, energy filtered TEM and precession electron diffraction.

A. J. Ribeiro

Professor António J. Ribeiro is professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Coimbra. He received his degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1991 from the University of Lisbon. He then pursued his studies in Pharmacokinetics and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University Paris XI in France. In 1997 he obtained his PhD degree from University Paris V in Pharmaceutical Technology specializing in microencapsulation. He is a specialist on pharmaceutical by training and has been working in the design and testing of biotechnology/biopharmaceuticals delivery systems. Since 2001, he has managed to develop in Coimbra a competitive research group with the aim of oral delivery of insulin. Prof. Ribeiro is the author of more than 100 publications including more than 50 peer review publications, several books’ chapters and 2 patents which have covered important areas in drug delivery, intestinal uptake of insulin, Diabetes, biopharmaceuticals and nanoparticles.

Masaaki Sato is a director of Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences, Tohoku University. He received his MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Kyoto University. He was Assistant Professor from 1976 to 1990 and Associate Professor from 1990 to 1992 at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences of The University of Tsukuba. Prof. Te-Hua Fang is a pioneer in molecular dynamics and nanotechnology. His current research interests include nanomaterials, sensors, and molecular dynamics, with over 300 journal publications. Dr. Fang is a Fellow of the Taiwanese Institution of Knowledge Innovation. He is the Chair Professor of National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS), Taiwan. Thomas J.
