György Keglevich

György Keglevich graduated as a chemical engineer. He has been Professor of Chemistry since 1995, and the Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry and Technology, Budapest Univesity of Technology since 1999. He is engaged with P-heterocyclic and environmentally-friendly chemistry comprising MW chemistry, phase transfer catalysis and the development of new catalysts. He is the author or co-author of 460 papers He holds editorial positions at the journals Curr. Green Chem., Cur. Org. Chem., Lett. Org. Chem., Curr. Org. Synth.. Lett. Drug Des. Disc. and Curr. Catal.. He is the member of the Editorial Board of Heteroatom Chem. and Phosphorus Sulfur Silicon.

Wei Zhang (Biography
Wei Zhang

Dr. Wei Zhang is Professor and Director of the Center for Green Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He received his PhD and did his post-doctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh. His previous positions include Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, Senior Chemist at DuPont, and Director at Fluorous Technologies, Inc. Prof. Zhang’s research is in the areas of fluorous chemistry, organocatalysis, medicinal chemistry, and green chemistry. He has coauthored over 170 papers including three in Chem. Rev., 5 patents, and co-edited “Green techniques for organic and medicinal applications” (Willey 2012). He is editor and editorial advisory member of six international journals. He received the International Fluorous Technology in 2015.

P. Lozano

Professor Pedro Lozano was born in Ceutí, Spain in 1961. He received his PhD in Sciences (Chemistry) at the University of Murcia in 1988. He spent two years (1990-91) at the Centre de Bioingénierie Gilbert Durand, Toulouse (France) as a post-doctoral fellow, then returned to the University of Murcia (Spain) as Lecturer in Biochemistry, and being finally promoted to Full Professor in 2004. Since 2014, Prof. Lozano is Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Murcia. His research activity has always been related with applied biocatalysis in ionic liquids and supercritical fluids, being authored more than 130 manuscripts (articles, book chapters, etc).

Claudio Santi received the PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Perugia under the supervision of Prof. Marcello Tiecco. Currently he is professor of Organic Chemistry and teaches the courses of Spectroscopy for Organic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry of Natural Compounds. He leads the group of Catalysis and Organic Green Chemistry in the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and is worldwide recognized expert n organoselenium chemistry. He is author of more than 130 publications including review articles and book chapters.

M. North

Michael North is professor of green chemistry with the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence at the University of York. His research interests cover homogeneous catalysis, carbon dioxide capture and utilisation, development of green solvents for organic synthesis and synthesis of polymers from biomass derived precursors. He has published over 200 papers, holds six patents and won the 2001 Descartes prize from the European Commission and the 2014 green chemistry award from the Royal Society of Chemistry.

M.O. Sydnes

Sydnes obtained his PhD degree in 2004 from Australian National University under the guidance of Professor Banwell. Since December 2011 he has been an Associate Professor at University of Stavanger, Norway. Research interests include; catalysis, natural product synthesis, and chemical biology.

Dr. Alcántara obtained his B.S. (1985) and Ph.D. (1989) degrees in Chemistry from the University of Córdoba, Spain, and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK) from 1989 to 1991. After that he was Assistant Professor (permanent position) in 1993 at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Complutense University of Madrid (Spain); he has received (April 2012) the positive accreditation to become Full Professor. He earned his PhD from Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry, Chinese academy of sciences in 2011, and was promoted to be associate professor in December 2013 in NIMTE. Luca Sancineto graduated in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy at the university of Perugia with a comprehensive final grade of summa cum laude. In 2012 he obtained his PhD degree in medicinal chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Oriana Tabarrini and Prof. Violetta Cecchetti, defending a thesis focused on the design and synthesis of novel anti-HIV agents targeting the viral transcriptional machinery. In 2010 he has been visiting researcher at the “International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB)” of Trieste. Presently, he is PostDoc at the Organic Chemistry section of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the university of Perugia, under the supervision of Prof. Claudio Santi. In 2017 he was awarded with the prestigious Polonez grant and for this reason he moved to the Centre of Molecular and Macromulecular studies in Lodz. His research interests lie in the development of new and green procedures for oxidation reactions and in the design and synthesis of chalcogen-containing derivatives as metals ligands.

Professor Kočevar obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and became a Professor of Organic Chemistry in 1997. He was a member of the management committees of several COST actions, a national representative in the committee of the IUPAC Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry Division (III). Professor Kočevar is IUPAC Fellow; he was awarded the Hanus Medal by the Czech Chemical Society and obtained Certificate of Appreciation from ACS Publications. Victorio Cadierno received his PhD degree from the University of Oviedo in 1996 under the supervision of Prof. J. Gimeno. After spending two years as post-doc at the LCC in Toulouse (J.-P. Majoral), he returned to the University of Oviedo in 1999 where he is currently Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry. His research interests cover the chemistry of organometallic compounds and their catalytic applications, being coauthor of more than 150 publications in the field. In 2002 he received the RSEQ Young Investigator Award and, in 2015, the GEQO Prize for Excellence in Organometallic Chemistry Research.

S.S. Panda

Siva S. Panda, is an Assistant Professor in Medicinal Chemistry/Biochemistry at the Augusta University, Augusta, Georgia. Before joining the Augusta University, he was working as senior scientist at Sigma-Aldrich. He did his postdoctoral research studies at University of Florida. He has published more than 70 articles in peer-reviewed journals and two book chapters. He has been also awarded one US patent. His research interest includes native chemical ligations, peptide conjugates, cyclic peptides, peptidomimetics and heterocyclic chemistry.

R. Sheldon (Biography
R. Sheldon

Roger Sheldon (www.sheldon.nl) is a recognised authority on Green Chemistry and widely known for developing the E factor concept for assessing the environmental impact of chemical processes. He is currently Distinguished Professor of Biocatalysis Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand (SA). He authored several books on catalysis, > 460 papers and 55 granted patents. He received the RSC 2010 Green Chemistry Award and the Biocat2010 lifetime achievement award for his important and lasting contributions to biocatalysis. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2015. He has a Ph.D. (organic chemistry) from Leicester University (UK) and was Professor at Delft University (NL) (1991-2007), CEO of CLEA Technologies (2006-2015), VP R&D at DSM (1980-1990) and with Shell Research Amsterdam (1969-1980).

Y. Yang (Biography
Y. Yang

Dr. Yu Yang is a Professor and Director of Chemistry Graduate Studies at East Carolina University, USA. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Mainz, Germany. Dr. Yang's principal areas of expertise include green chromatography, subcritical water chromatography and extraction, organic solubility and stability in subcritical water, pharmaceutical analysis, and CO2 sequestration. Honors include the University Five-Year Achievement for Excellence in Research Award, the Sigma Xi Helms Research Award, UNC Board of Governors Distinguished Professor for Teaching Award, Cottrell College Science Awards from Research Corporation, and the Starter Grant Award from the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh.
