György Keglevich graduated as a chemical engineer. He has been Professor of Chemistry since 1995, and the Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry and Technology, Budapest Univesity of Technology since 1999. He is engaged with P-heterocyclic and environmentally-friendly chemistry comprising MW chemistry, phase transfer catalysis and the development of new catalysts. He is the author or co-author of 460 papers He holds editorial positions at the journals Curr. Green Chem., Cur. Org. Chem., Lett. Org. Chem., Curr. Org. Synth.. Lett. Drug Des. Disc. and Curr. Catal.. He is the member of the Editorial Board of Heteroatom Chem. and Phosphorus Sulfur Silicon.

Wei Zhang

Dr. Wei Zhang is Professor and Director of the Center for Green Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He received his PhD and did his post-doctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh. His previous positions include Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, Senior Chemist at DuPont, and Director at Fluorous Technologies, Inc. Prof. Zhang’s research is in the areas of fluorous chemistry, organocatalysis, medicinal chemistry, and green chemistry. He has coauthored over 170 papers including three in Chem. Rev., 5 patents, and co-edited “Green techniques for organic and medicinal applications” (Willey 2012). He is editor and editorial advisory member of six international journals. He received the International Fluorous Technology in 2015.

P. Lozano

Professor Pedro Lozano was born in Ceutí, Spain in 1961. He received his PhD in Sciences (Chemistry) at the University of Murcia in 1988. He spent two years (1990-91) at the Centre de Bioingénierie Gilbert Durand, Toulouse (France) as a post-doctoral fellow, then returned to the University of Murcia (Spain) as Lecturer in Biochemistry, and being finally promoted to Full Professor in 2004. Since 2014, Prof. Lozano is Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Murcia. His research activity has always been related with applied biocatalysis in ionic liquids and supercritical fluids, being authored more than 130 manuscripts (articles, book chapters, etc).

Claudio Santi received the PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Perugia under the supervision of Prof. Marcello Tiecco. Currently he is professor of Organic Chemistry and teaches the courses of Spectroscopy for Organic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry of Natural Compounds. He leads the group of Catalysis and Organic Green Chemistry in the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and is worldwide recognized expert n organoselenium chemistry. His research interest range from the application of selenium reagents in green chemistry to the development of new orgaselenium containing drugs. He is author of more than 130 publications including review articles and book chapters.

M. North

Michael North is professor of green chemistry with the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence at the University of York. His research interests cover homogeneous catalysis, carbon dioxide capture and utilisation, development of green solvents for organic synthesis and synthesis of polymers from biomass derived precursors. He has published over 200 papers, holds six patents and won the 2001 Descartes prize from the European Commission and the 2014 green chemistry award from the Royal Society of Chemistry.

M.O. Sydnes

Sydnes obtained his PhD degree in 2004 from Australian National University under the guidance of Professor Banwell. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Australia and Japan, including a period as JSPS postdoctoral fellow with Professor Isobe, Nagoya University. Since December 2011 he has been an Associate Professor at University of Stavanger, Norway. Research interests include; catalysis, natural product synthesis, and chemical biology.

A.R. Alcántara

Dr. Alcántara obtained his B.S. (1985) and Ph.D. (1989) degrees in Chemistry from the University of Córdoba, Spain, and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK) from 1989 to 1991. After that he was Assistant Professor (permanent position) in 1993 at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Complutense University of Madrid (Spain); he has received (April 2012) the positive accreditation to become Full Professor. As Co-Director of the Biotransformations Group inside the Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the same Faculty, his research line is the chemoenzymatic sustainable production of chiral building blocks for drugs synthesis, resulting in more than 100 scientific papers, reviews and book chapters. Member of the Directive Board and Coordinator of the Applied Biocatalysis Group of the Spanish Society of Biotechnology (SEBiot), and its General Secretary from 2008 to 2012.

M. Czaun

Dr. Czaun received MS in Chemical Engineering (Honors, 1998) and PhD in Chemistry (Summa Cum Laude, 2003) from the University of Veszprem where he studied the functional and structural models of dioxygenase enzymes. He conducted scientific researcher at the University of Lund (Sweden), at the University of Namur (Belgium) and at Kumamoto University (Japan). He joined the Loker Hydrocarbon Research Institute at the University of Southern California in 2009. His research interests are materials chemistry, organometallic chemistry, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, reforming reactions of hydrocarbons, development of solid adsorbents for CO2 capture, CO2 recycling and energy storage. He is a member of multiple professional societies such as the American Chemical Society and the Royal Society of Chemistry.

M. Kocevar

Professor Kočevar obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and became a Professor of Organic Chemistry in 1997. He was a member of the management committees of several COST actions, a national representative in the committee of the IUPAC Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry Division (III). Professor Kočevar is IUPAC Fellow; he was awarded the Hanus Medal by the Czech Chemical Society and obtained Certificate of Appreciation from ACS Publications. Currently, Professor Kočevar was retired, but he still continuo partly working at the same university. He published more than 140 original scientific papers, several reviews, 4 patents, 3 textbooks, etc. Professor Kočevar is a member of several advisory boards of different journals including Current Organic Chemistry and Current Green Chemistry.

V.-C. Menéndez

Victorio Cadierno received his PhD degree from the University of Oviedo in 1996 under the supervision of Prof. J. Gimeno. After spending two years as post-doc at the LCC in Toulouse (J.-P. Majoral), he returned to the University of Oviedo in 1999 where he is currently Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry. His research interests cover the chemistry of organometallic compounds and their catalytic applications, being coauthor of more than 150 publications in the field. In 2002 he received the RSEQ Young Investigator Award and, in 2015, the GEQO Prize for Excellence in Organometallic Chemistry Research.

Francisco Alonso received his B.Sc. (1986), M.Sc. (1988), and Ph.D. (1991) degrees in Chemistry from the University of Alicante (Spain). After a postdoctoral stay (1992–1994) at the University of Oxford (UK) with Prof. S. G. R. Sheldon

Roger Sheldon (www.sheldon.nl) is a recognised authority on Green Chemistry and widely known for developing the E factor concept for assessing the environmental impact of chemical processes. He is currently Distinguished Professor of Biocatalysis Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand (SA). He authored several books on catalysis, > 460 papers and 55 granted patents. He received the RSC 2010 Green Chemistry Award and the Biocat2010 lifetime achievement award for his important and lasting contributions to biocatalysis. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2015. He has a Ph.D. (organic chemistry) from Leicester University (UK) and was Professor at Delft University (NL) (1991-2007), CEO of CLEA Technologies (2006-2015), VP R&D at DSM (1980-1990) and with Shell Research Amsterdam (1969-1980).

Dr. Yu Yang is a Professor and Director of Chemistry Graduate Studies at East Carolina University, USA. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Mainz, Germany.
