Ruey-Shin Juang

Dr. Juang is a professor at the Chang Gung University (CGU), Taiwan. Before joining CGU in February 2014, he has worked at the Yuan Ze University, Taiwan since August 1989. Dr. Juang has published more than 300 SCI papers. He is now an Associate Editor of Journal of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers, an Editorial Board Member of Separation and Purification Technology, and the Editor-in-Chief of Membrane Water Treatment, which are all SCI indexed. Dr. Juang is also the Founding Editor of this journal. His research covers sciences and technology of separation processes, and their applications in biochemical and environmental engineering.

T.C. Ling

Tau Chuan LING is currently a full professor at the Institute of Biological Sciences, University of Malaya, Malaysia. He is a Chartered Engineer of the Engineering Council, United Kingdom (CEng) and has been a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) since 2011. He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University, United Kingdom. He has more than 20 years of research experience in downstream processing and bioprocess engineering. To date he has published more than 130 ISI cited articles in international journals.

Dr. Hyun Gyu Park is a Professor at the department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, KAIST, Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from KAIST in 1996. During the past 14 years after he joined the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department at KAIST, he has published about 130 international papers in the prestigious journals including Angewandte, Nucleic Acid Research, Advanced Functional Materials, Small, ChemComm, Analytical Chemistry, and Biosensors and Bioelectronics. and holds 50 international or domestic patents. His research interests include nucleic acid bioengineering, microarray technology, electrochemical technology for biosensing, and nanobiotechnology. Now, he is serving as an editorial board member of Biotechnology Journal.

K.G. Clarke

Prof Kim Clarke obtained a PhD and BScEng from the University of Cape Town and MScEng from the University of Birmingham and has approximately 20 years' experience in university research and teaching. Currently she leads a multidisciplinary research group in Bioprocess Engineering at Stellenbosch University in which a wide range bacterial, fungal and enzymic biological processes are researched in diverse operational and reactor configurations. She has authored a book on Bioprocess Engineering (Elsevier) as well as several scientific publications in leading international journals, and has presented her work at numerous conferences.

Dr. Ma obtained his PhD from Philipps-University Marburg, Germany. He was a Max-Planck-Institute fellow and worked as a research associate at the University, and a postdoctoral fellow and then an assistant research scientist and a graduate faculty at the University of Georgia, United States. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Dr. Ma's research focuses on physiology, enzymology and alcohol metabolism of hyperthermophiles, a group of microorganisms growing optimally at 80°C and above or capable of growing at 90°C and above.

F. Sanromán

Professor M. Angeles Sanroman is the head of the Bioengineering & Sustainable Processes Group at the University of Vigo and member of ANEP-Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in the Technology Transfer Area. Currently, main research lines carried out are biodegradation of recalcitrant organic compounds, solid state fermentation, enzymatic technology, bioreactors design and advanced oxidation technologies. The results of these research works have been published in more than 230 papers, 5 patents, 20 chapters of books and more than 350 research communications. She has collaborated in more than 50 research and innovation projects.

J.A. Banas

Dr. Banas is a Professor at the University of Iowa’s Iowa Institute for Oral Health Research in the College of Dentistry. He obtained his Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Michigan in 1987. Dr. Banas’ lab studies the microbiology of dental caries, focusing on the contributions of oral streptococci. He has authored over 40 manuscripts.

A.K. Ray

Professor Ajay K. Ray, Chair of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Department at Western University (London, Canada), has made seminal research contributions in industrial process modeling and optimization; development of solar photocatalysis; and advancement of simulated moving bed technology for reactive separation. Dr. Ray has contributed to enhance engineering knowledge by devising innovative approaches to enhance process performance for applications in energy, environment, food and health, the key challenges facing the world. Dr. Ray is a prolific author, having written a text book on Engineering Mathematics and over 170 research articles in archival journals. The impact of his work is evident from high h-index and citations received. He has mentored over 80 graduate students. He is member of the editorial board of many journals, recipient of the Research, Teaching and Faculty Scholars award, CrayQuest award, Distinguished Speakers award, and Distinguished Alumni award from Calcutta University.

He is a Professor of the Chemical Engineering Department of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UCM in 2000. After that, in 2005, he obtained his Advanced Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention Degree, specialized on Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Ergonomics, and Applied Psycho-Sociology.
