Editor-in-Chief:

Debomoy K. Lahiri (Biography
Debomoy K. Lahiri

Dr. Debomoy Lahiri is Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine, USA. His major research focus is to understand the mechanism of aging, origin and biogenesis of the amyloid plaque, and to discover drug targets for Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other brain disorders. Dr. Lahiri’s group has shown the novel role of specific microRNA species in regulation of genes implicated in AD as well as the role of gene and environment interaction in late-life disorders. Also, his team has made significant contributions to understanding the biochemical pathway for neurodevelopment disorders, such as autism and fragile X syndrome. Dr. Lahiri is the Editor-In-Chief of the international journal, ‘Current Alzheimer Research' and ‘Current Aging Science' (Bentham). He authored books, such as ‘Protective Strategies for Neurodegenerative Diseases' published by the New York Academy of Sciences. Dr. Lahiri was awarded grants as a Principal Investigator from the National Institute on Aging, NIH, and Alzheimer’s Association, USA. His other honors include the ‘Zenith Award’ and listing in Marquis' ‘Who's Who in the World'.

Stephen C. Bondy (Biography
Stephen C. Bondy

Stephen Bondy is Professor of Neuroscience in the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, University of California, Irvine. He obtained an M.A. at Cambridge University and a Ph. D. in Biochemistry at the University of Birmingham, UK. He has held positions at Columbia University, UCLA, University of Colorado, and the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences. He is the author of around 300 articles and reviews.

The unifying concept underlying his current studies is that the aging brain is subject to gradually increasing levels of inflammation unprovoked by exogenous immune stimuli. This effect can be worsened by specific environmental factors or ameliorated by appropriate nutritional supplementation. Since brain aging is an essential contributing factor to neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, remedial action to reduce age-related excessive neuroinflammation, is likely to reduce the incidence of age-linked neurological disease.
